Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

This is a thread to discuss IFS therapy (Internal Family Systems) used for suicidal ideation. The plan is to read the book and do the exercises in the book that was written by the founder of IFS, Richard Schwartz. The book is "No Bad Parts." Here it is:

This book is also available on Audible, which is the version I have.

According to this therapy model, we are made of different parts. On this forum, one of the parts we can all relate to is our suicidal part, and our suicidal part in the focus for this thread.

This discussion will be only for peers. Therapists are are welcome, but only as peers, meaning they're doing the therapy for themselves. This keeps everyone on an even level.

Oh I hope you join!! Jump in any time.

Hi. I hope you're considering reading this book and maybe even joining the thread.

I've tried this book in fits and starts over the past year and read the first three chapters, without much interest. But I never considered my suicidal part. So I'll be starting over with the suicidal part in mind. I'll start reading from the beginning next Monday, August 31. Of course you can start whenever you want. 😊

Here is all the book information from Audible:

I used IFSGpt a few times but I wouldn't dare mentioning suicide there. I'm not sure if I'd be willing to pay for this cause I wouldn't use it very often due to being low energy

Hi Willy Wonka! I know, right?!?! Crazy how taboo the subject of suicide is now. We're so lucky to have this forum! I lived in a time when the Internet was being developed, and it used to be an escape from reality, thus the term IRL. Now the Internet typically just mirrors reality with the oppression through laws and regulations. Such a rotten shame.

I'd looove to hear your thoughts on IFS, even though you're not into this book - if you're up to it. We've got another thread going on that here, and I hope to see your comments 😊
