exactly.I have a suspicion that some websites list extreme symptoms for peaceful suicide methods in order to discourage people from doing it.
hypoxia is different from suffocation.
what happens is probably the same thing as always: pro-life people using lies to try to dissuade others from killing themselves.
I'm not referring to OP. this type of pro-life propaganda is everywhere and some believe it.
although I do think that the title of this thread is somewhat misleading. SN is not perfect but it's very far from being inhumane. it's even recommended by the Peaceful Pill eHandbook doctor, who says it's "relatively peaceful".
I once saw a person who is a pro-lifer (I know they are pro-life because they told me), telling someone to throw away their SN, because the container had been exposed to a hot day (actually SN is stable and its storage doesn't require a specific room temperature range. room temperature is fine. it just requires a sealed container, so it doesn't oxidize into nitrate after being exposed to air).
don't take SN if you have stomach ulcers, though. this is a contraindication for this method.
it's not OK to lie or to manipulate others. no matter what intentions pro-life people had.
we should always do our own deep research, so we don't fall for ideological propaganda.
you can search for "hypoxia symptoms" and "methemoglobinemia symptoms", or "sodium nitrite poisoning symptoms" (without quotation marks) on pubmed and on the internet. So please stick to scientific evidence
we know what happens during and after a methemoglobinemia case. it's been known for years.
don't expect researches to do a study in the context of DIY euthanasia, though. there's no financial incentive for that.
I know this guy. he really drank SN. I don't remember if he used propranolol, though. I don't think he did.I've had my own experience with SN and it was peaceful, I've had shortness of breath and a mild headache but it took less than minutes to pass out, it wasn't uncomfortable and it's still my chosen method among the ones available to me, I don't know other point to this thread unless than scaring people
Of course it isn't the best way out, but it is the one more available and peaceful
if you said that it only took some minutes to pass out, @I need peace, imagine if you had taken propranolol - a drug that blocks the compensatory tachicardia, which provides more oxygen for tissues by making blood circulate faster. with this drug, you'd have passed out even quicker.
