Waking in the dark end of the longest day

There's this girl I really like, some time ago we used to have something like a relationship although we were not officially boyfriend and girlfriend. It was always a bit turbulent because she has BPD, and the truth is that I lacked a bit of experience to deal with many things during that time. Nowadays we don't have anything romantic anymore, we're just friends, but I still find it difficult to handle the things she goes through... I feel very sad when she gets hurt and there's nothing I can do to help (or at least it seems like there's nothing I can do)
