I take 25mg of quetiapine to help me sleep. I also notice it helps my depression a little the day after. Until recently I just took it occassionally when I needed something stronger than melatonin. Benzos don't do much for me. After a few days I noticed that I needed to increase the dose to 50mg of quetiapine to have the same sedative effect. I would really like to use it as an antimetic with SN. It is very hard for me to obtain antiemetics in Australia and a lot of drugs have a bad reaction because I have Essential tremor. I'm unable to take anti depressants and trying metrachlopromide made me so agitated I had trouble swalllowing and wanted to bash my head in...I have similar effects with anti depressants.

I was wondering for those who take quetiapine how long it took them to build up tolerance so that they could stay awake for a while on higher dosages? I'm only 42kg so hoping I could get away with about 250mg of it as an antiematic rather than the suggested 300mg.

Hi! I'm also considering Q as an anti-emetic and a sedative for my final trip. I think of taking up to 200 mg of it, maybe only 100. I need to test the dosage first, to see how fast it puts me to sleep. And that should deal with the SI, possibly nausea, anxiety, etc, too.
Even after some time it would probably difficult for me to stay up long with a 200+ dose. I'd like to use it exactly because it puts me too sleep very well, so that I lose consciousness fast if not from SN itself then from Q for sure.
If you want to taper it correctly, do it rather slowly, over days or even weeks, as would be described in the manual. And remember that increasing the dose might increase suicidal ideation in the beginning.
