Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

I think the most effective things that have kept me from killing myself have tended to be small. The world sucks, but wildlife is so amazing to witness. I'm behind my peers in life, but sometimes I get to eat really good food, even if it's just junk food. Hell, even fresh air. I'm stressed out socially, but hot showers feel really comforting. One of the less small things is my pet bird, who I know no one else in my life would care for nearly as passionately.

Does anyone else working towards recovery have silly little things that keep them around?

Sorry if this is a little dumb, but since there's a recovery section, I thought it might be relevant.

Strawberry lemonade is super good! It's been ages since I've had, but that needs to change. Music is also huge for me. I have an mp3 player with a bunch of music downloaded on it so I can listen to music without relying on my phone or data or wifi.

This isn't dumb at all, for gods sake Sylvia Plath wrote Tulips… about just wanting to die in the white sterile peaceful hospital while just not being able to cuz of those horrible yet beautiful tulips…

Etikas suicide note, oh I watched it so many times! It stood out to me because you could tell he didn't even really want to die… he was sad that he was never going to see how attack on titan ends…

Considering how small vast and tiny we are in comparison to the vast and mostly undiscovered universe… it makes sense the smallest things are the ones we cling to the most.

The best things in life are free…

And never feel silly or dumb for anything that gives you happiness. Everyone, no matter who you are… deserves happiness in this inherently screwed up fucked up world..

Ppl will judge you and shame you for the way you chose to recover…. Or how long it's taking, or any criticism or distrust or discomfort you may at all have at all towards professional help…

Don't let them make you feel guilty! They can all fuck off. Your recovery is yours alone and for you and only you. You deserve it…. Even if you don't feel like you do. ): 💖

That's a really good point about us being small in regards to the universe and therefore small things are more meaningful. It's interesting cause while we're tiny relative to the universe, we're giant compared to other animals and other living things. Thinking about it just has me thinking that size is a social construct. Everything's relative and just because what keeps you going is small to others doesn't mean it's small to you and something that's big for others isn't always big for you.

Like who determines what's considered small? Meaning is man-made and we choose what we apply it to. If meaning is found in music and fresh air, then that's huge and meaningful.
