Discussion Stupid badly recieved encourgament for you to not ctb

I know I post advice for some and about my own wishes to ctb, but gosh do i feel bad seeing all of the things you guys post. Although I don't know any of you, I have no idea who you are, I still..care? I just have that feeling that you're another human being who deserves good, deserves to be loved and cared for and happy. I know it. You can not change my mind on that. This is NOT to people who are in such awful situations there is no way to help/save them to where they just have to ctb. Nor to everyone, just like..most of you. Because I know a ton of you can be helped somehow.

If it means anything to any of you, this is my encouragement for you to live.

I have a discord and you can always chat me if you want, any of you. If nobody else does, I care. Really. Trust me on it, ok?

What good does it serve if no one ever died?

People have to die. If you're born, then you have to die.

I'm more tortured by knowing that others are suffering. Death is coming no matter what. But suffering can be avoided and eliminated.

I don't want anyone to suffer. I already know that everyone is going to die.

That's very kind, and I feel similarly. Probably because almost everyone I've seen on here has been so nice, compassionate, and understanding. It's tragic that so many caring people feel the way they do and that life can be so harsh to some of the nicest people.

Either way, everyone should be free to make their own decisions but knowing that others care, even if just a little does help, so thank you.

ngl when i saw the title i assumed you were a pro-lifer and i was ready to leave a snarky petty comment lol. but you sound sincere and compassionate, and i think your words are very sweet.

i feel similarly honestly. i respect everyone's choice, whether they choose to live or ctb, but when i see a goodbye post i cant help but feel a little grief. its kinda bittersweet, knowing theyre at peace but also knowing i'll never see them here again bc theyre gone forever. i wouldnt go as far as to say i dont want anyone to ctb, but i understand the sentiment

No thank you, I'd rather not suffer and life in itself is suffering. Encouragement to live belongs in the "recovery" section.

I do feel sad about people dying, and I don't wish people death. However in some cases wanting someone to be alive is a selfish, not altruistic thing. If the person is suffering and someone sort of wants to keep them around to not have to cope with the loss. I wish more people were helped to find their lives actually worth living. Financially, medically, all the reasonable help to make them feel like it's worth it to stay around. Until you're not able to create some cozy but actually working and non-dystopian utopia with for example proper medical care for everyone, no shitty governments etc., you're not entitled to keeping anyone around. I guess you wouldn't be entitled to it even if you created such an utopian place and invited all of us. I understand that you're truly upset, but I want to make it very clear that no one owes you staying alive just so you won't be sad.
Also understanding your motives, understanding why you care for example about people who want to die, could help you with being more effective. For example people die against their will from preventable illness, and you could focus on that if just preventing people from dying before they reach old age was your goal.

I feel care for every human who has come onto earth and chose a life that isn't bad(they haven't hurt people and such). Life is just as valuable as death, it is also an inevitable thing. Death only exists because life does. I appreciate the fact that people can die and be gifted a freedom from everything around them, but I also like people being able to preserve and live. I hate that people are suffering, I want to try and help those I can.

I feel bad because that person's life was so bad that they had to end it, I want to help peoples lives be better. Im sad that their suffering could have been ended a different want. This isn't for those truly suffering, like going through imaginable things, just those who can be fixed and helped..

Many in despair will go to suicide discussion and just hearing about other peoples missery and or recieving mostly encouragment in their dession to ctb can make them less inclined to rethink their decisions. Being around nothing but others talking about their own despair can really warp your mindsett.

Many in despair will go to suicide discussion and just hearing about other peoples missery and or recieving mostly encouragment in their dession to ctb can make them less inclined to rethink their decisions. Being around nothing but others talking about their own despair can really warp your mindsett.

To be fair, this is what the section is about, telling people right away to not CTB is in pretty bad taste, but people can still discuss it, especially if it seems like the original poster doesn't seem to be 100% sure of their decision. But for this general post I feel like it's alright I can sense the good intentions, I don't think it's just about blindly telling people to live so I personally don't mind this post.

Moved the thread to recovery. I'm not sure what makes people think that those who vent in the suicide discussion subforum would want others to lay out all the ways how their life could get better.

I get what you're saying, OP, since I agree that a lot of people here want to kill themselves over problems that can be fixed with rather little effort. But members here don't want to read that shit when they vent their feelings. Otherwise they would just use Reddit to talk about their issues and be just fine
