So sick of workplace hierarchies and the people who get off on it

Just recently got a write up for a minimum wage job where I'm consistently overworked, and denied a promotion because of "disrespect."

I was literally going to quit as I found it quite disrespectful that I had literally requested to not work with this person, over harassment, and was continually scheduled with her every shift after that. It's like they wanted me to quit, honestly. This lady takes me off my lunch break to do her job and they expect me to smile and bat my eyelashes, lest I get fired for "disrespect."

She was the type that really enjoyed that people had to be nice to her because of her position as an "authority" I say that in quotes because her role was practically just an overglorified cashier. She literally did nothing but steal and laze around all day, and only got fired after she tried to assault me on the sales floor!

God, if you're queer it's like it doesn't matter how hard you work, you have to be perfect otherwise people will nitpick the way you respond to harassment. And yes, she was a phobe in practically every use of the term.

So sorry you went through that. Some states, some cities, and some businesses are very toxic in that regard. But not all of them, try to find one that's more civilized, although depending where you live it might be difficult.
