whatever you do just don't shoot the bottom of your chin up because alot of times that blows off the face and leaves the brain alive

Worst nightmare. When I wonder how things could ever get worse, this is one that comes to mind. This mistake has ended in a lot of face transplants, which, as they are, may seem like a leap in the medical field but are not something I think anyone would wish to endure or live with.

I have a 9mm and also worried a shot to the head might not kill quickly. If you saw that video of the Kenosha shootings one of the guys too an AR-15 round to the head and was still conscious for a bit.

I was thinking of maybe shooting towards the heart. I think if you hit it you'd be unconscious pretty quickly. But if you miss you could just shoot again whereas if shooting into the head probably one shot is all you'll get.

Not sure about this one. I think I remember my prof telling us that if you shoot or stab ur heart, it will send a msg to your brain that it hurts. As a result, u MIGHT feel pain. Not sure if this is correct tho. It was two years ago when I heard this one. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Its not hard at all honestly you will only miss if you schoot straight trough your neck but your aim mist be extremely garbage if you would miss that :p

Well there was 3 shooting victims, the first one (before Kyle was chased) was shot in the groin, chest, and head, he was alive and in terrible pain, shot by Kyle with his AR-15 style rifle which is either 223. or 556 NATO. The second one was shot in the chest once or twice, he stumbled off an fell face first, the bullet exploded his heart and popped his lung. The third guy was shot in the arm, it tore it in half basically destroying the two adjoining bones. So yes, if you get shot in the heart, it will put you out relatively quickly.

From my research, putting the gun in a mouth and aiming for the brainstem is the most lethal. A friend of mine did that in the bathtub to minimize the cleanup him roommates had to do once they found him. It was very considerate.

This is the way I'm most aware of and would do if I were to ever stumble across a loaded gun.

Don't forget to tie a string with a balloon to it if outside.

Just making me really worried that this won't kill me.

Judging by the composition of the skull, and where the brain lies in the skull, I'd say it's the best area to go for if it's not intra-oral.

Thanks. Sucks even having to make this decision. Imagine if assisted suicide was legal how much better for everyone it would be. You could have your family around you. Watch some movies, or read and have a nice peaceful day before you slowly drift to sleep.

From the video, it seemed to have just grazed the top right half of his skull, didn't seem to enter, but it did some damage.

isn't the best place apart from intra-oral just behind lower ear, pointing into centre of head? Where Christine Chubbock pointed (google her). You want to kill the brain stem, it's unsurvivable.

Really any place towards the brain would do. But intra-oral is the way to go if it's a low caliber, like below rifle.
Anything else can go anywhere pretty much.

This is the question that concerns me a lot since my plan is also CTB with gun (ruger sp 101, 357 mag)
I believe that better spot is behind the ear. You can hit brainstem or at least blood vessels

People should read the megathread. Problem with behind, right under ear, temple etc. is the tendency to flinch at the last moment. That's why inside mouth is best.

Ye, as I said, intraoral unless it's anything above a pistol. It's the least amount of bone to go through while maximizing the damage to essential tissue.

Correction : I do believe the side of the head is just as effective though.

But intraoral holds the barrel in place, points it in the right direction, and helps prevent flinching.

Once i read that if you can do it with your mouth filled with water your head will explode. Ever hear of that?

Lol I read about that as well but I'm not sure. I mean maybe it would make a difference? Because the water would carry the subsequent expansion much better than air. But I wouldn't attempt it because it might just blow the bottom portion of your head off or decapitate you. I'm not exactly sure which way.

Have you considered a combination method? For example, my ideal method would be to stand right on the edge of a cliff or bridge and use a firearm.

There probably isn't much point to giving people from years old threads advice and asking them questions. The original poster hasn't been seen on this site for a long time. But firearms scare me as well, I saw a thread on here about a failed shotgun suicide a while back and it really is horrific how suicide methods can go wrong and cause so much damage. But firearms aren't even an option in my country anyway.
