It's called 'sockpuppets'. Chances are they never left and simply created another identity. I've seen it many times on Usenet and I'm 100% sure it happens on this forum as well.

I'm not saying none of the cases are real, but let's not be gullible: there could be fakes. If you want credible research, then you need trustworthy witnesses.

Also, people take several meds in combination with SN, but do they really counteract the side-effects? This is something that Boudewijn Chabot mentions in his book 'Uitweg' (Dignified Dying). He states there is not enough (real) research about the SN method.

Boudewijn Chabot knows very well that SN is peaceful.

Philip Nitschke and Boudewijn Chabot watched a video together in 2021 of an Australian couple taking SN.

Both Chabot and Nitschke witnessed a peaceful death.

SN looks like one of the best methods, but I don't understand how it can combat jumping in regards to reliability, so long as the height and surface are sufficient...

The number of young people wanting to end their existence is truly Heartbreaking!

It's the state of the world these days. Young people, like myself, feel hopeless and scared and depressed because of everything that has been going on with so many things. politics, religious views, sexuality, social lives...all of that and a myriad of other problems have become prominent for teens and young adults. Its been getting harder and harder to look at the world and feel like life is gonna be good because of all the issues. The youth is struggling and theres only but so much people can do about it now. I'm sad to be among them and feel the weight of this world as well.

People planning SN CTB should consider disclosing their county or neighbourhood details on here so that their CTB can be verified from the local news sources. The stats would be way more credible. Makes a huge difference for people considering SN mode.

My theory is antithetic to yours. I believe the unsuccessful stories here are fake and planted by pro life people or feds who want to dissuade people from taking a credible and relatively painless CTB route like SN.

I pretty much hold that view, too, BUT I doubt all of them are fake. I mean statistics would indicate that there has to be legitimate failed attempts simply because nothing in life can be 100% successful all of the time, including ctb attempts. That's true for hangings, drownings, certainly ODs, even firearms. There are bound to be failed SN attempts occasionally. But, definitely, I think there are plenty of "scare" incidents planted here meant to dissuade people. It's difficult, if not impossible, to parse out the legitimate failures from the bunk ones.
