I've had a really bad couple of days and my brain isn't working at all right now, so I can't figure out what the best search terms to see if this has already been discussed would be, I'm happy to be pointing to an existing thread if there is one.
This is mostly curiousity because nitrites for a few different reasons probably aren't the right method for me, but I've been wondering about it for a while anyway.
I have an ongoing fantasy about ctb in the woods and having my remains eaten by animals as a final show of contempt for my existance.
I know that veterinary euthanasia drugs linger after death and can lead to poisoning of scavengers if the bodies aren't buried deep enough (I actually saw a wildlife rescue post about it happening to a couple of vultures within the past few months).
Given that SN and KN are specifically used as preservatives and can also cause inadvertant poisoning when too much is used and then consumed by the unaware, is it safe to assume there would be similar danger to scavengers ingesting the remains of someone who ctb using those methods (and therefore something to avoid if one didn't want to harm the animals as well)?
Are there other methods of suicide-by-substance that should potentially be avoided for the same reason? I assume with charcoal poisoning, for example, the primary risk to humans or animals would be from entering the enclosed area while CO levels were still lethal, and I feel like at that point, a corpse might be fresh enough not to attract much attention from the taphonomic community? If one wasn't found for long enough for decomposition to set in, would the levels dissipate before something decided to tear its way in, or would there still be risks to them?
