So I live in one of the current 4 states in the US that has a ban on SN more than 10% for personal use. So does that mean I can't ctb this way in this state or buy it and have it delivered to me? Any knowledge on this? I did buy some from hopefully a good source just put the order in and paid for it - it's pending, and just got an email the order was successful but nothing else right now. (Payment still pending and not shipped yet etc). Now I'm scared that I'm going to get in trouble for ordering this in the banned state and what would happen if I do end up using it and say it fails? I'm more scared now about all this :/

A bill just passed the U.S. congress, and it is headed to the U.S. senate a bill called: Trahan's Youth Poisoning Protection Act, which would ban above 10% the sale of sodium nitrate concentration to business verified industrial or commercial use.

The congress part passed on 04.29.2025

I guess it depends on who you bought it from and whether they would respect the ban in your state. If they do, they would cancel the order. If they ship it, depending on how discreetly they ship it, there'd be no way for your state to know what's in the package. Whether your state postal office, or other courier, is on the lookout for packages from certain places with certain "company", or other "names" on the label, I have no idea.

That was my one thought that they'd cancel the order (bc I ordered it outside of business hours so maybe I'll get an update tomorrow) I guess I could also play dumb and not realize it's banned. Or say I thought it was sodium nitrAte or something idk. Definitely nervous until it's finalized. Thanks for replying.

The laws prohibit the sale, not the possession, of SN in concentrations >10%.

Okay that makes me feel a little better because I guess they can just cancel the order on their end once they see where I'm from. Ugh. Now debating on a back up source not based in the US if that'd work bc this seems like a good option to ctb from what I researched so far.

Agreed, doesn't make sense! I mean I get it obviously it's just surprising bc my state also allows for the assisted suicide if someone qualifies with a terminal illness.

I needed to write this somewhere. I got my SN back in May and it was fine no issues and no wellness checks (although I've heard of people getting them many months later)

Anyway… today - 3 medical personnel knocked so loudly on my door today & I opened it and they were like I heard you have been feeling sick with headaches and were questioning my status (& I freaked out bc thought this was a wellness check and also I just got meto this past weekend where I lied about headaches causing nausea for the prescription lol). Turns out the neighbor that called got the wrong apt and they were on there way but damn what a weird coincidence!
