I deleted all my browsing histories and I need help in checking the doses and timetables of the preparatory regimen.
I have SN, metoclopramide and ranitidine (in form of Zantac).
I don't feel I have time to search - somebody please point me to where I can find this info again.
Sorry to sound so hopeless but I am going under fast.
My mind not working right. This is what I remember.
Ahead regimen:-
10 mg Meto every 8 hours for 48 hours
Then 225 mg ranitidine (3 x 75 mg tabs) just prior to attempt
Then 15/20 gm SN in 100 ml water.
What about fasting?
I feel a fool for deleting all the info I had saved.

Stat dose 30 mg Meto and 225 mg ranitidine just before SN attempt ? (Possibly can't wait 2 days).

W.
In a panic. All self confidence totally gone. No sleep. Just gone 5 am here.
Didn't expect it to be like this.

Will I get through crisis ? Once in Death Zone only one way out, I fear.

It sounds like you got it right from everything I've read. I'm really confused about stat vs. regimen. The meto side effects can be so bad...why prolong it over two days?

Meto accumulate inside your body thats why there is a regimen for it. If youre worry about the side effect. Test it out before starting the regimen. If its not good. Change it.

I guess what I'm wondering is, since it seems likely you'll have side effects, if you do it one hour or half hour before, don't you avoid most of them and just get the one thing you want from it...inability to vomit?

Meto main selling point isnt only its antiemetic effect. But its prokinetic effect in emptying your gastric so even if you feel like puking. There will be nothing inside there for you to puke out. Also know that anti emetic is not a must. Depend on how you want to go about it.

How much in a hurry are you? The best time is right after waking up, or at least 8 hours after last meal. It's the worst feeling to go in a panic. Can you afford the time for sedating yourself and see where it takes you?

Just to calm you down a little. It's not very likely that you have side effects. Yes, it can happen, but even for the more harmless side effects the chances are 1 in 10. There is a high chance that you will be fine.

Possible side effects

Like all medicines, Metoclopramide Hydrochloride tablets can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Stop the treatment and talk straight away to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you experience one of the following signs while having this medicine:

- uncontrollable movements (often involving head or neck). These may occur in children or young adults and particularly when high doses are used. These signs usually occur at the beginning of treatment and may even occur after one single administration. These movements will stop when treated appropriately.

- high fever, high blood pressure, convulsions, sweating, production of saliva. These may be signs of a condition called neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

- Itching or skin rashes, swelling of the face, lips or throat, difficulty in breathing. These may be signs of an allergic reaction, which may be severe.

Very common (may affect more than 1 in 10 people)
  • feeling drowsy.
Common (may affect up to 1 in 10 people)
  • depression
  • uncontrollable movements such as tics, shaking, twisting movements or muscle contracture (stiffness, rigidity)
  • symptoms similar to Parkinson disease (rigidity, tremor)
  • feel restless
  • blood pressure decrease (particularly with intravenous route)
  • diarrhoea
  • feeling weak.
Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people)
  • raised levels of a hormone called prolactin in the blood which may cause: milk production in men, and women who are not breast-feeding
  • irregular periods
  • hallucination
  • decreased level of consciousness
  • slow heartbeat (particularly with intravenous route)
  • allergy
Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people)
  • confusional state
  • convulsion (especially in patients with epilepsy)

What about fasting?

4 to 8 hours of only drinking as much water as you need and no more. No food. If you can only manage 4h no food, it should suffice.

So hard maintain ahead regimen, no sudden impulsivity, just cold blooded determination and no comfort eating.

Stat method just as good ?

Almost paralysed with fear this morning, fear of everything beyond my bedroom door.

Everything wrong.

Am I over the edge ?

Are you getting any side effects from the meto?

@Roger, here are some (((hugs))).
If you don't feel ready you don't have to do this now. I know you're weary but if it's too scary you can catch a later bus.

To answer your questions as well as I can: Dignitas uses a stat dose of meto so presumably that's okay. A nearly-empty stomach is recommended anyway.

I'm sorry you're experiencing so much distress but maybe this time is just a rehearsal? Here are fresh (((hugs))).

Maybe

Thank you for your comments, I know they are well-meant and it doesn't take much to make me draw back from going through with it. Frankly it is self doubt, SI and cowardice and perhaps I seek the merest additional excuse.

On the other hand I wouldn't appreciate it if people were egging me on, and that would bring the forum into disrepute as well.

It distresses me to think of you in distress. I think a lot of us are stunned by the strength of our SI when push comes to shove. If a "dress rehearsal" helps to get acquainted with that and to take steps to ease us through it, that's valuable, right?

I just want the best possible outcome for you, @Roger. If that means proceeding now despite your unease then I respect that. Perhaps there's something you can do to lessen your anxiety. Meditate. Listen to music. Talk with us. (((Hugs)))

Why do you need to fast for this? Can you not add more sn to counteract the preperations

Ph in gastric will cut the absorption in half. You will need to increase the dose by 100% to counteract it. 40g of sn is not pleasant? If I am not mistaken table salt od at 25g.

I see. Thanks.
Roger is this anxiety out of character for you? As you seem surprised by it. It may mea you are having a bad reaction to the meto. I've see it cause akathisia and cns damage to many.

Sorry to ask this on Rogers thread, but do you think this is still possible withpossible vomiting with a back up mixed 5g if that is the case?

You mentioned that anti es are not essential. Do you think it's possible without. With a back up of mixed solution, if vomitting occurs. Also I'm in very poor physical health, I have cns damage and dysautomnia. Do you think this will work for or against me? Could go either way I guess

Like you said it can go either way. No one can say for sure what will happen.

For myself I will prepare second dose of SN just in case.

Table salt OD? Not heard of that. Surely that wouldn't do you any harm?

Possible, but it would have to be a shitton and would be absolutely painful. It has happened. Look up "table salt poisoning" in your favorite search engine and you'll find a few articles on it.

Yes I just did. I'm very surprised to be honest. I do love salt and was actually thinking about a dummy run using table salt instead of SN stat dose. Maybe not a good idea?

20g of table salt won't kill you, it would likely make you thirsty as fuck and will not be kind to your kidneys though.

Did I mention that you can also die from drinking too much water? :haha:

Yes. Yes it can. Read it up.

"The lethal dose was estimated to be less than 10 g of sodium (<5 teaspoons of salt) in two children, and less than 25 g sodium in four adults (<4 tablespoons of salt). The frequency of fatal ingestion of salt is not able to be discerned from our review. If investigation of the causes of hypernatremia in hospital records indicates salt overdose is relatively common, consideration could be given to placing warning labels on salt containers and shakers."

Yes it will harm you.

Too much or too little of salt or potassium can kill but it's not exactly easy to do. Someone would have to be fairly unhealthy and really trying.
I can't fathom it happening to anyone by accident. But I'm sure someone will correct me, I am here to learn.
