Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Hello if SN was acquired 4-5 years ago & never opened at all, is it expired? Will it work? What are risks of taking expired SN? Would anything even happen or just nothing at all? Someone knowledgable pls help ty
4–5 years is a bit too long to store SN. In theory, it's a very stable substance and degrades slowly, but after about 3 years, its purity can start to decline. I'd recommend testing it or buying a new batch, just to be safe. A visible sign is the color: if it's turned brownish or beige, like cane sugar, it may have started to degrade. Keep in mind that low-purity SN can cause the same symptoms as high-purity SN, but with a lower chance of lethality and a longer, more painful experience.

It's a bit like salt or honey, or it should be anyway, in that defects or signs of aging/degradation can be seen via changes in colour or texture. I echo the reply above! You can by SN kits online and test it's purity to see if any exposure to oxygen has caused it to degrade! In terms of lethality, it's probably still lethal but you'll never be sure unless you get it tested. But, if the container is super airtight and secure then chances are your SN should be fine, but if you don't know about the manufacturing process then that's another thing to factor in.

The ppeh say that it is an extremely stable substance that as long as it's sealed will last indefinitely. Not sure about the indefinitely but I've read in two other chemistry sites that it will last well beyond it's experation date. I can't tell you what to do, just passing on information.

I'd like to preface this to hopefully help people not make rash decisions due to the fear that their suicide method will go "bad" and they feel forced to take it before they truly want to. Freedom of choice means everything. There is a lot of misconception on here about how long both of these...
Yeah, I get that. Just saying I wouldn't open it until you're ready to use it. And I'd test it right then and there when ready. You can order an aquarium test kit from Amazon, even other places. I wouldn't use it without testing it first. That's my opinion. YMMV.

Blood test. You mix a certain amount of your blood, like from a finger prick, with a certain amount of SN. The blood will turn chocolate brown in the presence of SN, but it won't tell you purity or anything like that. I don't *think* it's an indicator of whether the SN is still good, either. How to do it is in the SN Megathread. Again, I wouldn't open the SN until you are absolutely ready to ctb.
