Hey everyone! First post here
I've been suffering from BPD for a while now, and I keep getting worse with time and I just can't take it anymore.
I know I might get better with time but I still need a reliable method if things kept going downwards, so if I wanted to CTB by slitting my wrists, how exactly do I have to do it? and would it help if I drank some beer before it (I get drunk really easily) plus took a lot of painkillers? Like would it be able to stop the pain or would it just cause me to go numb and not be able to cut properly?

just my 2 cents,
I dont think this is a great method because im pretty sure I've read somewhere you have a really low chance of dying and end up hurting yourself.
and I also dont think painkillers and getting drunk would help either.
I cut my wrists a lot, daily even, and depending on how deep the cut is, personally I have not have any problem doing it.
I would take deep breaths and just do it.
Obviously, your SI is a big factor and will refuse at first and would require alot of willpower. and I mean alot.
The pain will be drastic after a while.

Are there any good alternatives? I don't have access to a firearm or SN

Slitting wrists while drunk of pain killers is usually just a cry for help, not a very solid plan for CTB.

Hello friend; I also am diagnosed with BPD, and I also planned for wrist slitting. I went through with mine--you might understand I was engaging in high-risk behaviours. I was rolling the dice on if I'd survive. Six times arteries opened; six times I survived. I did call for help. That's the problem with alcohol. You'll call for help.

This is a very risky method and not very effective. I now have masses of scar tissue on the insides of both of my wrists, and I am lucky that I didn't cause debilitating tendon damage--I did cause tendon damage, but now it's just chronic pain, not loss of mobility. I had to deal with a seroma during healing. Grossest. Thing. Ever.

It's gonna hurt, and it probably won't work. If you are drunk enough to go deep, you are drunk enough that your basic instincts will take over.

Those are my thoughts as a BPD person who tried cutting wrists. [edit: while drunk. I cut while drunk]
Slitting wrists while drunk of pain killers is usually just a cry for help, not a very solid plan for CTB.
Well that's a shitty thing to say and you obviously have no lived experience with BPD, so why'd you say anything at all?

Helium tanks are probably your best option. Best wishes <3

Really don't recommend. So many ways this can go wrong. You're going to end with a big mess, probably permanently scarred and like someone said, you're going to call for help if you're drunk and on painkillers. Nevermind the fact that you're not going to be coordinated. Please reconsider

To be honest he's correct. If the FPs actually tried to help me I wouldn't consider this, but they don't give a shit about me

A shitty thing to say or not, the truth is, if someone wants to CTB they should choose a method that pretty much has a 95% + effective rate and NOT cutting your wrists while on pain killers and drunk. If you're going to do it (CTB) then choose a better method than one which is usually ineffective. These are the actions of someone crying out for help, not someone who really wants to CTB, IMHO. But then again, only the OP can say for sure.

Sorry, but your CTB journey is YOUR journey. I can not give you an easy way out. You need to do your own research and learn as much as you can to make the best choice for yourself. Good luck. I hope you find the peace that you seek.

I've got BPD and scars from 140 surgical staples; I've hit arteries, but being that drunk it's hard to keep my resolve. Survival instinct is very strong. You'll feel savable. You'll end up in the hospital being heavily validated, you'll get addicted to that. It won't end you. It'll just make you worse.
