Should I wear a thin turtleneck for padding? (full suspension, short drop)

Hey,
Tuesday is the day im going to ctb, I've got it all ready, except for the padding that should be used,
would a turtleneck work? Im also kinda scared for the SI and what that would do to the turtleneck
