i've had many cases where i feel like "i'm fucked" and then i call someone or talk to someone (people who are sensitive and proper for such matters) and it genuinely makes me feel a lot better, especially in longer talks too.
My parents already have too many problems; I really didn't want to have to burden them with anything else—I've already been dead weight in their lives for too long.
I notice that instead of saying "my parents wouldn't listen/understand" you expressed your own personal concern for them.
This means you are concerned that expressing suicidal emotions to them may affect them tenderly, therefore, they seem like truly sensitive people.
The only case where I would hestitate to open up to someone about my suicidal emotion is if I think that there will be an adverse reaction, or that I will not receive the level of sensitivity I seek in such intimate matters.
Why not open up to your parents? That's one of the absolute closest bonds you can have; if that conversation goes well, then that has
tremendous potential for support, both now and in time to come too.
But that's the problem: I can't bring myself to get help.
I mean you
did make this post, asking other people for help, and that is very much a real act of getting help :).
The main barriers to getting help are due to real concerns you and me possess. Maybe we may misunderstand things, but I believe we sincerely do have good intentions. We want to feel safe, and we want to feel like we are a source of good to others too. We want to benefit others & feel valued, and we want to feel secure, unthreatened.
But the truth is that others
are capable of taking a bit of stress and then moving on with their life, ESPECIALLY in the context of us continuing to be alive. Someone helping us with suicidal ideation is NOT a wound to them, but it is a
healing for us. That healing is a moral good, and it is noble and lovely for both of us ♥.
What could they possibly do? Besides, they have more important problems anyway.
Someone being in such pain as to want to literally kill themselves
is an important problem, regardless of what other people think. ♥
@literallynoone if it's possible could you please provide a translation to the Portugese? no pressure
My friends couldn't help me. What could they possibly do?
I think social bonds
are capable of giving us not just short-term comfort but longer-term direct aid and true increases of power when it comes to our own issues; good social bonds can provide not only advice but active direct aid when it comes to our problems. For example, if we struggle with focusing on homework, a good friend can offer to study with us for 2 hours in shared physical presence, materially increasing focus.
By "my friends couldn't help me", do you mean that you have tried to seek support from your friends in the past? What was that experience like? ♥
It's always worth talking to someone about our suicidal emotions ♥. You never know, you might discover something we did not know before
