I kind of became an Hikikomori and I dont have anything in life I want to persue. I dont play video games but I dont really do anything else. I kind of try to help with householding stuff but I am too tired most of the time. I dont want to continue living anymore. There is a possibility to hang myself but I cant bring myself to do it. I am too afraid of getting brain damage and I dont want to burden my parents.

I've seen people describe 'Hikikomori syndrome' talking about people outside of Japan, so I'd say its a global phenomenon. I think the equivalent English term would be NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)

I disagree, the English equivalent is just shut-in, you can be a NEET and still go outside often and stuff. Most hikikomori are NEETs but not all NEETs are hikikomori

I'm almost Hikikomori too. I only leave my apartment 30 minutes per day because of my disabilities.
I hope you'll find peace. And you're right about a failed attempt. I remember a young guy irl who tried to hang himself and he was put into coma for days. He finally died after that, but he could have been rescued. It's so scary to end as a vegetable.

I'm also hikikomori. A work from home Hiki!

I dread ever having to go to the office, but I do have to go once in a rare while, once in a few months.

Reading through this, I guess I am both a Hikikomori and NEET then.
I barely if ever go outside anymore because of intense social anxiety I developed at least when it comes to unfamiliar people and the pain I feel when I see happy (at least way less unhappy than me) individuals living proper lives everywhere.

Only half a year ago I used to be training to make day trading my profession because that seemed doable to me time commitment and social issues wise compared to my learned profession of industrial engineer, which doesn't seem like I could ever perform properly at a real job with due to these issues. But lately I can't even motivate myself for that anymore.
