being a shitty parent is one of the easiest, yet detrimental crimes you can get away with………

your parents bare minimum will be praised because they had to "take care of you" (as if thats your fault)

your bare minimum in result of theirs and many other factors will be condemned and ridiculed because you have no dependents (selective hypocrisy)

Until recently, I used to think I had shitty parents too...

Now that they're getting older, I'm starting to see them as lost little creatures in an extremely cruel world themselves.

If you think about it, parents are just children older than you.

I have thought about it, and I realized they are people who can dish abuse but can't take it. Repeat cycles because they know they can get away with it. Expect you to get over with because thats just how life works. Everyone gets older, but thats not an explanation for parenting they chose to implement. Broken environments they chose to keep not only distressed children but themselves in. Them getting older doesn't change a damn thing.
