hi long time no see (haven't been here in ages cus lowkey i've been feeling less generally suicidal although i still have moments here and there)
I was just looking for some advice on aftercare and i thought here might be a good place to ask, especially since my reddit account got suspended recently and thats usually where i go for advice
specifically i wanted to know how best to avoid having dried blood from cuts dry and then stick to wound dressings? (also by extension how to stop scabs that form from doing the same thing) it's really annoying taking the dressing off to replace/change it and having it both hurt and reopen the wounds for a little bit and having to wait for the bleeding to stop. i've tried using vaseline as suggested by some people on another website i can't remember (i'd be asking there if i could tbh) and so far that hasnt worked. anyone have any suggestions?

you could also apply pressure on the wound for long enough that it stops bleeding / bleeds really slowly and then apply the wound dressings, but that depends on the depth of the cuts

I personally soak compresses in saline water and keep them pressed to the wounds for an extended period of time. Then when the blood as coagulated, I swipe one, removing excess beginning to crust. And then repeat this until they are at my satisfaction. If we are talking about cuts that need stitches. Well I simply clean every 2 days after keeping them under a sterilised baggage as they heal.
