I have only been able to do mushrooms once. I really enjoyed it. I have no idea if they would be good as a medical tool, though.

Shrooms helped me a lot, did truffles one every few months to take the edge off of the depression. Effects were long-lasting for a normal dose of truffles. Would recommend, but definitely do your research and make sure you're in the right headspace for it and prepared and comfortable with it all.

LSD gave me the push to start to take therapy and self-psychoanalysis seriously. I'd be careful if you're actively suicidal though because that can trigger really bad trips.

I have done acid, shrooms, and DMT before. There's great potential to use any and all of these for personal growth. However, if you're on this website I'd say you're at a higher risk for bad trips. I suffer from panic attacks, and a panic attack on a healthy dose of psychedelic drugs is a kind of unending terror that I truthfully would not wish on anyone.

That's a great resource on all things drug-related. Lots of trip reports in there among other things. Stay safe, and best wishes :)

I wanted to add there have been a lot of preliminary studies and even clinical trials on psilocybin and other hallucinogens (MDMA and LSD, namely) being used in depression, PTSD, and death anxiety (for terminal patients). You can find these more recent studies by searching Google with the phrase "psilocybin + depression + pmc" for the research papers. There has been a huge push to investigate psychedelics as treatment options and the results are very promising. (Erowid doesn't have anything after 2017 that I saw in the research articles.)

Be safe and I wish you the best!

If you're on SSRI/SNRI medication, it will interfere with the psilobin and you will get very little, if any, benifet. No sure with dmt or acid though. Obviously whatever you decide to do, proceed with caution and have a sober family/friend look over you (trip sitter)

I planned to try lsd and maybe get a new perspective but I dont expect any wonders to happen and neither should you. But i think we should give it a go. You should defenitly have some benzos around and a trip sitter in case of a bad trip

I considered it before. Some folks said you need to be in a good mental state, though.

I dislike shrooms because of the body high. LSD is really great :)

strongly consider microdose or low dose. The key underlying mechanism is called neurogenesis. If you want to go down the rabbit hole on that, consider stuff like TAK653 and Cerebrolysin. Neurogenesis is best combined with strong efforts to change, new experiences or youll just reinforce bad patterns in thought and action.

Is there any way to get benefit from shrooms while on SSRIs?

Shrooms freed me for a bit. I didn't feel caged in my body...I felt like a free spirit. It was good 😊.

Oh I love psychodelics, however 2/3 of my trips with shrooms and LSD ended in "bad" trips but they helped me look at things from different angles. One shroom bad trip actually reduced my fear of death, so there is that. It definetly helps putting things into perspective. But I used them recreationally, not to self meditate. Key thing about them is vibes, vibes must be good and mindset, don't fear the "bad" trip, think about it as a possible learning expirience

so long as i don't do too much, i've had some really good shroom trips. really enjoy out-of-body highs, but not a lot of other stuff gives me that escape like shrooms or weed. but i'd be careful using it for self-medicating; i've heard that it's really not good to do when you're in a bad mental state...

weed is best/most convenient, though. i wanna try more psychedelics and see how they compare, but it's really hard to find people and i'm not sure whats even worth it loll

I echo the advice to get an experienced trip sitter. Follow their instructions on how much to take. I know someone who fell into the "If a little bit is good, then more must be better!" trap. They lost their grip on reality to the "threatening to harm self and others" level. Thank God the paranoia stopped when they quit eating shrooms like Doritos.

Research any medications you're on and if that would interact badly with drugs. I was once on lithium and found out that + acid could cause seizures 😵‍💫

be very very careful taking higher doses. if you're suicidal, those feelings will 100% come up during a trip and nightmare trips can really put you in a worse place for a long time (on the flip side, good trips leave you in a better place for a while).

I am still recovering from a nightmare trip. The trip made me feel like no matter what I do I'm wrong and things won't get better. It's been hard to come out of that mindset.

Isn't TAK653 in clinical trials right now? Is there a way to get it beyond qualifying for a trial?

good question, everychem.com has it. Also recommend their bromantane, which upregulates dopamine production, very relevant after using stimulants, even nicotine. The vendor runs a discord called "nootopics" which is a good resource to mine on brain health

I smoke weed and it helps my chronic anxiety (I suffer from body symptoms rather than anxious thoughts.) Most definitely wouldn't be here without it. Helps insomnia too.

Depends on the definition of self medicate like I am under medication but approved by my psychiatrist.
I did shrooms bc I wanted to, not necessarily with the idea of healing, but open to that possibility.
And it worked to me, gave me a huge stress relief from the situation I was in, I was able to see myself in a different lens, watching my thoughts and my problem from another prospective, watching them float around and flow as I can't even control it.
I cried, felt lot of emotions togheter, but in the end it was incredible and it healed me a lot. Gave me so much relief that I am so happy to have done it and would do it again. Especially made me reconsider wanting to cbt at least for quite sometime after doing it

shrooms answered so many of my questions about my purpose here and the universe, I'd do them again if I wasn't being controlled by my psychotic family
