I tried partial hanging today. I'm having trouble with it because letting myself hang is pretty uncomfortable and feels kinda weird. I'm uncomfortable but I don't feel like I'm gonna pass out.

I tied the noose to a hanger beam in my closet that is around the same height as my eyes. It's pretty sturdy and I'm not worried about it breaking under my weight. I've watched videos where people do similar things and pass out quickly. I have the rope on the highest part of my neck with the knot at the back of my neck but I can't pass out before pain causes me to get back up. This happens even when I use a scarf under the rope.

Is there something I could sedate myself with so I'm oblivious to any pain or able to pass out more quickly? I have some 7-OH tablets I confiscated from my brother. I tried half a tablet for the first time and I think it's made me more drowsy/calmer. But I also got like 2 hours of sleep last night so it's hard to tell

It could be that you're just not compressing the carotids correctly, im not sure, blackout should be quite fast

I agree, it should be quite fast. But sedating yourself is most likely still smart if you feel the need to calm your nerves or something, and I'm pretty sure 7-OH reduces pain as well.

That could be it, but I'm struggling to picture what exactly I'm doing wrong. I just asked a question about how safe it is to post pictures on here. If it is I might post a pic of my setup.

I think you can show pictures of a set up but I cannot specifically tell you what to do, I could help with theoreticals of a possible setup

It took about 15 minutes for the half tablet I took to set in. I felt a little more peaceful than usual, but I've been able to achieve that on days where my depression isn't bad by laying in the couch in the sun. 15 minutes later I started feeling a little nauseous and after 15 minutes and threw up. I didn't vomit a lot, but I got really sweaty. I felt great after though 😅It's worth noting that 7-OH was confiscated from my brother because he's under age and I'm aware of negative affects it could have. And since I don't know exactly where he got it from I was a little paranoid of it's legitimacy, even though it was sealed and can be found online.

I didn't know if I threw up because it's my first time trying something like this and I was nervous or if I really just had a bad reaction to it.

Not sure if I will try that next time I attempt partial because it's gonna be hard to clean vomit from my closet if I fail 😢

oh god, yeah. ive heard those can cause strong nausea just in general. If you want to try again it probably wont be too bad, it's worth testing first though if you do want to, your body might just handle it badly.

Sorry for replying horribly late.
It really depends on what uncomfortable feeling you mean, but it usually all just stems from practice in finding your carotids, because if you do compress them well with the rope it's very quick and doesnt hurt at all, at least for me. I've practiced finding their very strong pulse with my fingers so I know where to put the rope (just going to add here that you really shouldnt compress your carotids while doing this, or more than you absolutely need to in any case, you're going to give yourself serious brain damage).
I don't know how you would ever stand up after passing out except maybe if you're doing PSH by letting yourself slide down into the rope from a standing position and your body spasming somehow puts you back into a standing position against a wall, although I would deem this situation extremely unlikely to happen. If someone knows more about this though I'd be happy to be educated.
