Venting Scared to post on the Forum

Even though I'm just here for methods, I'm really scared to post here, given how heavily monitored this site has become. Because outside of this forum there's nothing but threats of imprisonment ( and trust me the mob is very angry); there's all sorts of eyes lurking, screenshotting and logging everything we do — it's made me fucking paranoid!

I don't want to insinuate anything towards anything that may get me locked up (especially if it leads to ones death), but at the same time I can't really speak my mind if I don't and am just left with anxiety.. I keep thinking how this may turn into a silk road thing in the future and all my data getting retrieved by feds. It's turning me into a complete mess

This is supposed to be a safe space. I know I have an unhealthy disregard for my own life, but at the end of the day, that's just me. You shouldn't be afraid to post here, a lot of people here are more empathetic than you'd think. I have to admit I wouldn't like for my friends or family to see what I post on this website, and it has in some cases made me a little paranoid. However, in the rules and info thread, there's a section about privacy with tips you can use to better protect yourself, if it's that important to you.

I think as long as you don't give any information that could be used to interpret where you live, you should probably be fine. This is a really good site to speak your mind and release the anxiety of everyday problems; on other sites you'd get censored or outright banned for talking about yourself or your problems. At the end of the day, you'll just keep building up more anxiety if you don't let it all out somewhere, right? Trust me, it super sucks to break under all that pressure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm almost certain you're allowed to use a VPN to log into the site. Not on signup, though, but hey, it's leagues better for Rain alone to know your IP than the government who wants nothing but the worst for you. Idk if this sounds ironic or mean at all, but I'll look forward to reading about your problems, (in a good way) though please know that encouraging or linking directly to threads with suicide methods isn't allowed, so in the end it'll be up to you to do the research and decide what method works best for you.

Some pro-lifers on twitter screenshot and threaten people of this forum and in the same breath say they want us to get better. Whoever is outspoken against their beliefs (or is a mod) becomes a sadist predator who is not really suicidal and is just pretending to be one, on the other hand whoever avoids speaking on controversial topics is just a desperate person who needs help . I hope this post of mine (and yours) don't qualify us for being in the first category.

Some of these pro-lifers are adding more more injury to already suicidal people .

There are several things you can do to keep yourself safe. First, and most obviously don't post any information that might help identify you. If it is essential that you post personal-ish infomration, then stick to generalities. (For example, I live in California would be better than I live in San Diego.) Second, don't post anything that is likely to be illegal in your jurisdiction. (Mostly that's just a matter of common sense.) Third, if you don't want your internet provider to know that you are visiting this site, then access it by means of a vpn or even tor. In most countries you can't get into any kind of trouble simply by asking for support, or providing factual information. The administrators have thought all this through already, which is why the rules of the site - which you MUST read, remember and respect - are the way they are. If you do all those things you should be OK if you live in a normal country. If you live somewhere like North Korea, you might not be.

This just comes across as an overly paranoid, fearmongering thread to me, I don't understand what the point is to reading pro-life nonsense on the internet, like you won't benefit from doing that as it's just insane drivel.

And this forum is fine but if you don't want to post on here then you don't have to. But anyway when it comes to methods, pretty much everything has already been asked about and answered, that's why the search function exists and why there's a suicide resource complination, so if you are only here for methods then why cannot you just do your own research, why do you need other people to tell you methods that exist when this site is already filled with information. And there is also the option for people to vent on their profile page which non registered guests cannot read, so you can speak your mind on there. But anyway, best of luck.

Ehhh, I had similar concerns. That's what made me not sign up for a long time. In the end I decided it's worth having a space to be 100% honest. I'm still new to posting but it has been a godsend. I try and keep explicit details on who/where I am anonymous. I wouldn't help someone ctb so it's not illegal to post here. If I'm screenshotted... well that sucks but it's a price I'm willing to pay. I might be leaving soon anyway so yolo. I'm honestly tempted to leave my username in a note if I ctb so people can see how my thoughts were before death. Idk maybe it can help psychological research or something.

I had that fear too. I had to really do some digging to find out who sold N and SN on my own, and, although I ended up figuring it out, those chances slipped on by. Now I have an account to hopefully make it easier.

With that said, I believe that one is more likely to get caught by a family or friend who looks at your screen in passing. Maybe they want to borrow your phone, or laptop, but you forgot to close the tab to this site and so they see it. Then they ask, what is this forum? Do I need to call 911? Etc. At that point the seed has already been planted and they will be hyper aware of everything you do and/or say. Perhaps they will sift through every package and letter that's addressed to you, or take away your internet/phone rights depending on your age.

It's definitely not illegal to speak your mind here about how and why you feel like ending your life, so I at least wouldn't be afraid of doing that.

Yeah I would love to be honest, but even when I started speaking of my preferred methods in the SS telegram group someone already started calling me a creep , I'm not really too sure with here since I can't even delete my messages. I'm scared to comment anything here because it could be interpreted as advice, which is pretty much a crime (or at least will be in the future), due to the all the hostility this site has been getting from government in the U.S.

Most on this forum aren't really concern about it because they plan on killing themselves sooner rather then later, but with me I'm still looking into options so I'm not too sure really.

Luckily for me I'm the only one who uses my PC and I tend to open this forum in a separate browser. I'm not too worried about family finding out, just law enforcement, because I've already been threatened by them twice that next time they show up to my house they're taking me to the hospital. I'm not even sure if I'm on a watch list. But what scares me most is the site being taken down and all data gets retrieved by police, which then prompts them to hospitalize me and many other users on this forum.
