Crap, this kind of scares me now. The lad who was apparently still conscious twelve hours after ingestion and the girl who survived 60 grams. Sure, we can't know in how far they followed the 'regimen' but still.

Probably they vomited soon. But 3 other cases were successful even after being found and going to hospital. This report is from only one hospital at California during 6months at 2019

Perhaps, but it does put rather a damper on the common belief that it's quick and relatively peaceful and has a high success rate even after potentially vomiting.

Stan made it clear you can still successfully CTB even after you vomit. We knew this already. It depend on many factors of coarse. How much of the solution did you actually vomit etc etc.

I think the success rate by SN is high. Consider many are found dead and this report is about who found alive

It makes me think that it must have been fairly painful/uncomfortable because they all ended up either calling for help or someone calling for help on their behalf.

This cluster of cases highlights an alarming trend, and we reported these cases to the state health department and to the directors of poison centers across the United States. Potential responses should focus on curtailing the ease by which sodium nitrite can be obtained in large quantities. The United Kingdom lists sodium nitrite as a reportable substance, as it can be used as a poison or component in explosives, and requires mandated reporting to law enforcement for suspicious purchases. Additional countermeasures include increasing public awareness to the dangers of the chemical and targeting websites with prescriptive information regarding methods of suicide.
This is actually what scares me most. The more they recognize this as a common method of suicide, the more they will act to inhibit its availability and possibly even come down on this site. They don't want us to have the right to take our own lives.

I still have about 50 g of SN (having wasted 2 previous batches). I wonder if I should buy some more just in case it gets taken off the market.

It is alarming, but what purity was their SN? How old was it? Was the 60g one dose vomited almost at once, or consecutive doses? And other questions we'll probably never find answers to (unless it's all in the article, which I haven't read yet)

Someone survived 60g :mmm:
Which is why only 20-25g should be taken. They most likely vomited very early on, expelling most of the SN. It needs to be just the right amount where the body doesn't immediately expel it. Not too much, as the body will vomit it back up, and not too little as it will take too long to be effective, resulting in an unpleasant death.

I'm going to mix two 25g doses both with propranolol

This is the most informative article I've ever read on SN. I'm glad it's finally getting some serious attention, regardless if it's good or bad for this community.

The estimated doses ingested ranged from 15 grams to 113 grams, with one patient surviving after an ingestion of 60 grams.

wtf

And that's the concern that death is by heart attack .. are you unconscious or are you aware? Responsive initially but within 30 mins they seriously decline.

this shows that someone could possibly survive many hours untreated and live per the first case. It's highly individual.

just wish i knew which way mine will be. :(
My natural death progression is horribly painful now so..,

many members describe having their hearts beating really fast just minutes after taking SN ... so I assume the death beign by heart attack pretty accurate

I think it's worth noting that the patient who survived to 60 g ingestion was extubated the following morning neurologically intact.

What I noticed is that on page 4 it mentions that the three who died all died within 1 hour of ingesting SN.

I think this is important in that it implies that for all three their SI kicked in and they immediately called 911. There is no other way for someone to ingest SN, call 911, have 911 arrive, be transported to the hospital, receive treatment, and still die within 1 hour of ingesting SN.

This supports the suggestion to take a benzo or other sleep inducing drug - to help you pass out and not turn yourself in by calling for help.

Also interesting, on page 3 it states that the lethal dose for adults is 1 gm.

Would you like to have "chocolate brown blood"?
It turns that color with small amounts of SN .. it's what happens . Takes the O2 from you blood

It's working harder to try pump more oxygen around the body. Hence why propranolol potentiates the SN. It slows the heart down to try prevent your body compensating

Oh yes, this definitely has to be said. You will look like shit when found, please realise this. Your skin will turn a blueish grey, quite possibly smurf-blue.
