But the physical sensation will not be the same. Overdosing on regular table salt gives different physiological side effects than NaNO2 poisoning. The two are not comparable and rather than running through such a test it seems like 0.5 g sodium nitrite would make more sense. Too much table salt might make someone twitchy and have very unnatural and pinch sensations, so it is not the same. Maybe for a salty taste, but still kind of a weird thing to do.

I'm not implying you overdose on salt. It's just for flavour. It's a physiological run and won't work or help everybody. You'd be really stupid to test ingest SN.

Yes i did i taste test some time ago out of curiosity i think it was 5 grams in like 300 ml but i was well hydrated and fed that day but still some effects happened like i felt lightheaded and minor vomit it lasted like 40 min and the taste was strong

For anyone who has a strong compulsion to ingest nitrites for whatever in spite of the warnings of this thread, maybe alkyl nitrites (aka poppers) can be used as a harm reduction alternative? Amyl nitrite and isobutyl nitrite are volatile liquids that you can inhale to essentially give yourself a micro dose of SN-like effects. In a lot of countries they are available, though often they are branded as leather cleaner for legal reasons.

Note that drinking them is not advisable. The concentrations are generally not strong enough for severe methemoglobinemia and are not very reliable for a genuine CTB method, though it is likely you will experience strong discomfort and may need medical attention to alleviate the symptoms.

The title had me laughing, it's like: do not drink poison. you will die.

I accidentally come into skin contact with it from time to time when I portion a new bottle to another container and every time I do, I feel dizzy and ill for a good 4-8 hours.

I agree. There's no reason to do this. Besides, if you can get hold of SN you can get nitrite testing kits to test it.

I threw up straight after from the taste alone and don't throw up easily (i only had a teeny bit on my tongue, nothing substantially swallowed). Then sent to the hospital and basically shat my brains out for two weeks. Not fun

Even opening sn and getting it in the air can be enough to make you feel ill. So if you have no intention to use it besides testing the purity with strips or to ctb I wouldn't even open it.

It's better to be safe then to accidentally ctb early or by accidentally poisoning someone else.

Damn, sorry to hear. Can I ask how much SN you ingested? Maybe it was too much and your body reacted immediately?

not much at all, honestly i wasn't sure i even ingested any of it until i got sick. the hospital didn't do any tests though since i told them i didn't put it in my mouth but within the day i was feeling god awful.

i put the standard dosage i found on this forum (forgot exactly) and swallowed less than mouthwash im pretty sure
