I've been thinking (right now) about how bad it must suck to be reincarnated as one of those inmortal jellyfish that go through different stages but never really die.

Like specially for suicidal people, who just want to cease to exist, but also just anyone.

If you are reincarnated as an animal you have dumb animal brain you can't reach enlightenment, too bad you gotta wait for the next human life.

But if you land on inmortal jellyfish, well fuck you buddy, you don't even have a brain and you are stuck there forever.

It pretty much defeats the whole purpose of buddhisim. It's like its monopoly go to jail square. You are just trapped in that floating bag of water, never to escape it, never to die and jump to the next life, never to reach Nirvana, not a thought, just darkness and polyps for eternity, with some luck a few bubbles.
Maybe its kind of like death? Also the sun would explode eventually and they'd die no? Maybe a fish can eat them? Do fish eat them?

Worth noting that I have no clue whatosever about buddhism or jellyfishology nor any other kind of fishology. I am dumb and this is the product.

This message was brought to you by the trying desperately to distract yourself from suicidal thoughts brain department. Thank you for reading have a good day and if you die I hope you don't turn into jellyfish <3

I did a quick google search, and turns out they can die! Though they can't die on their own they can die due to environmental factors like illness and getting eaten. Microsoft copilot says that they can get eaten by, "Larger jellyfish, sea anemones, tuna, sharks, swordfish, sea turtles, and even penguins"! not sure if im slow and just not getting the poetry of your post or if this was a genuine concern, regardless i hope you never turn into a jellyfish either!<3

Oh no poetry involved whatsoever girl, just sheer sleep deprived rambling. Hadn't even googled it.
Glad to know they can find peace and get eaten by various sea critters. It kinda makes my post pointless. My apologies to Budda.

But-

I still choose to believe that, statistically, there still must be one out there, the soul of one Jean Pierre Gormond who died in a coal mine in Revolutionary France and its since been a jellyfish, cursed by fate to have never been eaten, never freed, and I'd say its our sacred mission as humanity to find him and make sure he never does by placing him in a forever stable and artificial environment with no predators. Maybe launch him into deep space if the budget allows it. So he shall never escape his jelly jail. And prove Budda wrong once and for all.

Just to be clear this is also heavy silly rambling. I should sleep. But thanks for answering and keeping my head busy :D

I would like to become a rain frog. They don't think and are round and soft and small. Cute, dumb little meatballs.
