Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

My angle on this isn't making an attempt and failing- and regretting the consequences. I think we can all agree that is something we all are concerned about.

My thought process is more on the pro-lifers who appear to think it's something you might regret AFTER succeeding. Firstly- that of course relies on feeling anything after death- which a lot of people believe is impossible anyhow. I guess it's something you COULD regret in between initializing the method and dieing (I know some people have).

Still, it's the thought of reaching an afterlife (still conscious and basically 'you') and supposedly regretting it that puzzles me. I suppose if the afterlife was even worse- that would make sense. I guess there COULD be things you miss if the afterlife is vastly different- having a body maybe (obviously focussing on the nicer things) or missing your family still 'stuck' on earth. Plus, I guess watching them grieve for you wouldn't be good.

I've always looked a bit on ctb like resigning from a shitty job though. It's not to say I've always gone on to better jobs but I've NEVER regretted resigning from a job because there were specific reasons why each one had become intolerable. I guess I wonder what it is that makes pro lifers think we will regret leaving behind if we hate life so much to be in this position in the first place.

I'm sorry- it's another rambling thread and kind of pointless. We probably can't understand the pro-life mind any more than they can understand ours.

I didn't even realize they thought that. Admittedly, I haven't spent much time trying to figure them out. Their POV isn't that complex. They never put forth any arguments that make you think. Just a few one-liners they all repeat verbatim.

But assuming they think we'll regret it:

A) Why do they care about THAT regret so much? Do they not think we have other regrets? Why aren't they sounding the alarm about all those other irreversible decisions and regrets?

B) Aren't they basically the same group of people who champion the afterlife? Describe it in all its gloriousness? From what I can tell, the afterlife is supposed to be perfect. There are no regrets in the afterlife.

If God made us and he knows everything, then he already knew who was going to commit suicide. It was all in his plan, as they say 😉

I think it boils down to people believing they're more important than they are; that they know what's best for everyone else.

They're not, for one second, concerned with our regrets. Think about it: there are billions of people RIGHT NOW regretting something besides suicide, and those pro-lifers are sleeping like babies.

It's best not to worry about the afterlife. To me it's all fictional, I believe that when we die we lose consciousness and that is it for us, we are gone and we won't have the ability to have thoughts and feelings. A lot of pro lifers are blind as to the cruel reality of this existence and all of the very real problems that people go through, for someone to be pro life in the first place then they must be very delusional.

But in my case if I was able to, I would never regret leaving this cruel nightmarish world. Our only fate as humans is to die anyway, so staying alive and delaying the inevitable is pointless. I've always hated this unnecessary concept called life and to die is the second best thing to never being born at all.
