My main issue is that I don't know if the noose is too close to the support-branch. Is it possible that my SI will cause me to grab the branch after I kick away the trash can I will be standing on? The two other branches aren't close enough to touch with my hands and my feet, the perspective just makes them look that way. I will also remove or cut away any of the stray rope you see hanging so that wont be an issue.

I already know both the rope and branch can support me.

Yes, I will do a double slipknot instead of just one, this was just for demonstration and for ease getting started in the dark.

If you are standing on something and kick it away, I don't think you'd be able to grab onto the branch again, even if it's close. Just based on videos I've seen of hangings. I can't say for sure of course. But typically with a drop, people pass out pretty quickly.

Yeah. I might also consider greasing the branch if I decide to go through with it just to make sure.

Any other opinions would be hugely appreciated.

Make sure the rope is long enough so that you are not able to grab the branch with your hands to pull yourself up.

This is my main concern also. The problem is if the rope hung any lower I might be too close to the ground...

Aren't there other higher trees? Also make sure the branch can hold 3x your body weight easily. might be important.

Yeah but I would have to climb the tree essentially in order to get the rope up there. I guess its possible but I really loved this spot. I might keep looking.

I have moved the rope a little bit up the branch and positioned it so I can't reach the branch and will still be suspended a few feet off the ground. Might be going tonight. Every morning/day I exist I regret not killing myself the previous night.

Yes true, that's one of the reasons why I will never hang myself. Have you thought about other methods? Y not CO in a tent for example?

To me ctb by gun is too cruel. I could never do it.

I don't have the energy to do anything else at this point. I'm spent. Its either this or nothing at this point for me.

From another thread on tree advicd that i saw a while ago - the branch is stronger the closer you have it to the trunk of the tree. Even if it holds your weight, thrashing could create forces in different directions which might cause the branch to break or bend unexpectedly.

Thanks, I have hung on the rope and swung around a lot and it seems very steady. Its a ash tree which are very strong trees.

Went down to the woods at midnight and stood on the barrel for on hour with this thing on my neck. Couldn't do it. Where do people get the balls for hanging? Maybe another night I can do it or, hopefully, I will get the GUN which is how I really want to go.

get drunk or get high don't do sober i failed my hanging attempt because of si and haven't tried hanging for a while bc if it

lol I get drunk EVERY night. I just let SI get to me. Its more a fear of failing that it is a fear of death for me though. Don't want to wind up as a carrot.
