forgive me for my idealising.

it's late at night, probably between 11pm-1am. i've had a decent last meal, listened to my favourite songs, prepared an inconspicuous enough note somewhere in my room. i'm a couple drinks in already for courage, and i've booked an ride share to the beach because i can't drive, maybe i tell the driver to drop me off to a random house, my paranoid brain tells me it might look weird getting dropped off at the beach at this time of night, alone.

i've never been out to the beach this late, it's extraordinarily dark, but beautiful. no stars, unfortunately, cities will do that to our sky. i chose this beach for its relative closeness and i imagine, a lack of people at this time. i say thank you to the driver and step out. the wind is strong and i make my way into the sand.

beer bottles clink in my tote bag, reminding me to get them out. it is so peaceful. the waves might be the most beautiful sound in the world. i listen to some music in one ear of my earphones, letting the waves and the instruments sing together. slowly i get less and less anxious.

when i decide it is time, i take off my shoes. let my feet connect to the grains of sand below, i lay them neatly next to my bag, my earphones, phone, everything else. i stand up and let the drink and wind dance with our partner, the shore. the nettles of ice wind set my skin alight a dull roar.

i am scared, but i continue, i make my way down, my feet finally touching the solid surface of wet sand, and dip my toes in, it is extremely cold, but it'll be bearable soon.

i slowly make my way through the water, feeling my waves bounce against my regular dress wear. i'm not in swimwear. i probably should be. but it's not like i'm trying to survive this anyway.

my skirt billows against the clear water like a mushroom cap, and soon i am floating. floating in the water. my skin is so so cold but i feel so so free.

of course, i'd considered the many options of what would happen from here on out…

i slowly drift away from the shore, until all i can see is dark horizons, eventually my legs tire and i drown, (i was never a good swimmer) sinking, an anchor.

a more likely option is a shark: after all, i am in its quarters, i had invaded its home, its peaceful knowing i served the most natural purpose for such a interesting animal.

the salt surrounds me but everything feels sweet, i arrive at that time right before death, where the panic sets in, the biological response, and know i did enough, i fought back just one last time.

who knows what happens after that.

Holy shit. HOLY SHIT!
Im sorry if you only wanted for us to read and appreciate your text, or if you wanted any replies, but here goes nothing.
It's interesting to see that many people on this forum have capabilities of creating the most beautiful kinds of art.
I know you were idealizing your own death, but I could imagine every scenario perfectly! (Although, distorted by my own experiences, I'm sure I didn't imagine exactly like you did) You could describe every ambient perfectly, really.
I'm sure you must feel a great amount of pain, but I guess pain makes the best artists, right?
I wish you to achieve your so desired peace, and I wish it wasn't from your own death. I wish you would keep writing (I'm not sure if it's your passion, but from the way you wrote here, it sure seems like so!) and I would keep reading it.
Please, be safe, and try to be present on your happy times and, if you could, keep writing, because I'd love to read it, really.
I know it's really egotistic for me to ask you to stay only for the sake of writing, but it's true, all of what I said here is true.
I wish you the best, buddy.

this is insanely sweet, thank you.

writing i suppose has always been the one thing i was good at, so it's nice to hear that you really enjoyed reading it. it brings a small sense of respite, perhaps ill write more and put it on here.

thank you for your kind words. today has been a really rough day, but reading this made me feel a bit better about myself. if you're a creative id love to see what you too :)

Aww hey no problem!! I just genuinely enjoyed reading it (though, is it weird? Idk I just found it beautiful in its own way, like when a flower is picked, it dies, but it's beautiful in its own ways)
If it makes your day even if just a bit better it's worth it, you know? I guess writing is a way for us to show the darkest bits of our soul, and if reading my kind words make you feel better, it fuels me even more!
Hmm, id say I am creative, I'm not best with words tho, I tried but, yeah it didn't work ://
But I do draw in my free time! Mostly fan arts tho, or my own ocs.
But, the thing that gives me most pride is music. I don't get a lot of attention online, but the process of planning the song, and then putting it into action is soooo satisfying! It's *my* way of showing the darkest pits of my own soul. (I only compose songs without lyrics and digitally, using fl studio)
Thanks for asking though, I tend to yap a lot about music if someone prompts me to :D
Do you create any other kind of art other then writing?
