What about "Pan's Labyrinth"? Love love love a good horror....
Its not sci-fi ot fantasy btw :: that blind cannibal monster is semi autobiographical - exactly how when my ex invites himself for dinner (starts out when I'm starving 4 something I can't have, and ends with me being chased around the house fearing for my life...! :: not actually that funny ugh! Truth hurts, and ok can be a bit funny....!
