Athena Glory, clumsy and carefree but is persistent in her efforts to help her young protege become mature and grow outside her antisocial shell through kindness and understanding. It may sound lame, but the show handles their relationship so well it's hard to put into words my adoration for it.

What about "Pan's Labyrinth"? Love love love a good horror....
Its not sci-fi ot fantasy btw :: that blind cannibal monster is semi autobiographical - exactly how when my ex invites himself for dinner (starts out when I'm starving 4 something I can't have, and ends with me being chased around the house fearing for my life...! :: not actually that funny ugh! Truth hurts, and ok can be a bit funny....!
