Found this site back in 2019 but it was because I was looking for a replacement for my old original site and Usenet newsgroup alt.suicide.holiday later just known as ash. Old member and one partner of that old place shared this place with me. Lurked here long time entered from another place with different ID. Computer and location. Far away from here. Came back 2022 and joined as this ID RW_Asher23. 23 the 23rd person to join alt.suicide.holiday many years ago. Usenet before the current Internet really existed. Google search provide you with this. Usenet was conceived in 1979 and publicly established in 1980, at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University, over a decade before the World Wide Web went online (and thus before the general public received access to the Internet), making it one of the oldest computer network communications ... Peace.

When I found it back in 2020, it's because I sought it out. I searched for a pro-choice suicide forum and it appeared as the top result on Google. I lurked for a few days before joining, but then I picked a username and did it.

It's strange how wildly different our paths to this forum were, isn't it?

I searched "suspension hanging" on Yandex (it doesn't censor suicide methods unlike other search engines) after reading about hanging on Lost All Hope about 7 months ago.

It's hard for me to remember as it was years ago at this point, but I do think that somehow I came across an article about somebody who ended their existence after viewing a suicide forum, I probably found that by trying to research suicide methods but instead all the search results were things related to suicide prevention (prolonging suffering). The article didn't name the site but soon enough I found this place.

Somewhere back in 2017/2018 I used to be a member of the old subreddit. When that was banned, I simply followed along to this website. Then, things became "better" (or so I thought, lmao), and I was not active here for a long time and my old account must have been banned/removed. And now, a few years later, I am back :)

This is a very well run forum imho. Discussion here seems to be 10000x more constructive than most other sites. Exponentially better than most social media (twitter, instagram, facebook etc).
