Therapy and old age? This is SS as you well know. If you believe in living until you drop dead or get stranded in a bed with zero control over your own fate I'm not sure why you are here. I am not trying to insult you. I thought you were making sense until you decided to go there. If you believe in saving everyone no matter their situation you might prefer SF. Good advice is fine. Lecturing - ehh not so much! If you want to live until your very last dying breath that's certainly your prerogative.
OP I understand your age and the comments concerning it as well as your frustration and impatient mindset but , cool your jets a little and take some good advice. There is a good chance you would end up worse off. And you yourself stated you don't drink and you're just hoping it will get you over the SI barrier but you're making a big assumption. I remember a woman here a while back posting about how she flew to New Mexico to jump off of that very high bridge there. She tried several times driving out to it Yes , she even got a motel and rented a car and would drive out there to observe and plan and ended up not jumping During the day it was too busy and at night it was this big black chasm that terrified her and she finally went home. I don't know what ever happened with her and honestly hope she's ok or found a more peaceful exit. Someone else has posted a story about a guy who jumped off of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and survived. He stated later he regretted it as soon as he attained free fall. I don't like giving advice on ctb to anyone but it's something best done with planning and a calm mindset. When attempted rashly and spontaneously it usually fails and with terrible results. Please see my signature at the bottom quoting TiredHorse. His "megathread" on exit bags is my personal preference. And regardless of the classless comment by someone you seem like an intelligent and likable person to me. I hope you're having a better day today than yesterday!
