It's hell.I don't have hyperacusis now but have experienced it for 3 weeks following one of my ear surgeries. Hyperacusis is awful, sounds were unimaginably loud, I could hear constant white noise, car engines from 3 streets away sounded like they were directly in my head, kettle boiling was unbearable, gently closing a door sounded like someone was slamming it as hard as they could, pounding in my head. People don't realise just how finely tuned the human body is until it goes wrong and then you realise how fucked up things can be.
