I have a theory that it could be neurotransmitters at work. You're describing symptoms common to migraines and migraines also have mood symptoms including SI. Imitrex or Zomig could take that away.

i feel like it might be cortisol. i was told by my doctor that i have very high cortisol levels at every time of day.
