A doctor's prescription is required.
I don't think it's technically OTC anywhere, just going to depend on how lax a pharmacy is in terms of selling it without one. Looks like nitritegirl was able to get it pretty easily without a prescription in Brazil

Buying N is ridiculously difficult in countries with access to it such as in US or Europe. Since it's controversy in euthanasia, attention to N usage off-prescription is significantly increased in the last few years.

It might be better to just use SN method since its cheaper and easier to obtain than N, although far more painful compared to N.

I agree with you that N is not a feasible option anymore because everyone knows what you're getting it for now. This thread is about phenobarbital which is a different drug than nembutal/pentobarbital, it's weaker and takes longer to work but does the job just the same eventually.

SN isn't an option to me because of the pain that you mentioned. I don't want my last moments to be spent suffering.
