Phenobarbital - why is there not more discussion about this as an alternative to N compared to something like SN?

"Apparently 25% of all medications from India are fakes and if they're ordered from the grey market they're pretty much guaranteed to be. The blisters look crazy realistic."

So yeah, that sounds pretty bad.

It came just as loose blisters. No carton or packaging insert even though I ordered 200, so that would be 2 cartons.

It was off darknet? I think most darknet vendors would not ship with the carton box due to customs, i never ordered through darknet markets so i really don't know. Was this the only option you got?

Have you looked at dark web forums like Dread to see if there are discussions about other (not Indian) sources for Phenobarbital? People have recommended that forum to research vendors and what drugs they sell.

No I haven't yet, might be worth a try. But I checked multiple DNMs and that was the only vendor on all of them.

I think it's available in a lot of countries, however it's not really OTC anywhere. Are you by chance know how hard it is to get non-otc medications in Brazil without a prescription?


There is a otc medication in Russia called Corvalol which does have phenobarbital however it also has peppermint oil and valerian root so not a viable option.

here in brazil there are some drugstores willing to sell prescription drugs without prescription. also, i dont think is too uncommon that if you friend someone in the drugstore they can sell you prescription drugs without one. my mom always got her benzos without any prescription from a local drugstore she always bought from. i don't think i could do the same though (and asking for 3 boxes of phenobarbital at once could raise suspicion, unless i got one box per month i guess...)

Oh interesting. You could do one box per month or just hit up 3 different drug stores and get a box per store. Please keep us posted if you do try to buy some, I'd definitely be willing to travel to Brazil to get some if it is not too difficult to convince the shop owners to sell it without a prescription.

This would be a good story if going to a vet for Pentobarbital or N as it's commonly used for euthanasia but not for Phenobarbital. Phenobarbital would be carried by regular drug stores as it's still prescribed to humans to treat seizures. Just want to make sure you're not mixing these two up since a veterinarian wouldn't be carrying Phenobarbital

Wow, thanks for sharing! They are from Brazil and were able to get it by calling small pharmacies and asking if they'd sell it without a prescription, so @nitritegirl was right that pharmacies in Brazil will sell you meds without a script if you try enough places.

Also it looks like they were discovered 10 minutes after ingestion so it makes sense it failed as even people who took N but were discovered shortly after were saved. It's important to not be found using either N or phenobarbital but particularly with phenobarbital as it takes a lot longer to kill you.

It recommends adding Morphine and Chloral Hydrate to the phenobarbital - I don't think these are necessary since the Phenobarbital dose is lethal by itself but I'm sure it makes it act a lot quicker with these additions. Also getting jealous reading the thread from the user above, seems some pharmacies are very lax about selling these medications without a script. The move might be to travel to Brazil to get Pheno instead of looking for N in Tijuana/Peru.

I said I was gonna get 4 boxes, so that's 120x100mg, 12 grams. should be enough. Gonna pick up the boxes tomorrow if everything goes right.

That was fast hah, I guess you already knew of a shady pharmacy so that sped up the process of finding it. I may be going on a trip to Brazil if it's that easy. Good luck with picking it up. from what i've seen 6–10g is a lethal dose, so i'm hoping that 12g would work fine. from what i've read here too, it seems like a reasonable dose.

I was basing that comment off of this source which recommend 15g for oral consumption - https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/bmjopen/10/7/e036054.full.pdf . I'm slightly above average height male at avg weight so I'd probably go with 15g to play it safe personally but there is no conclusive data on this available so 12g might be just as effective, especially if you're on the lighter side

Are you in the US? I only ask because I also going phenobarbital on the markets and had the same concerns about them being fake.
