I've tried a rope that is too thick to really compress the carotid artery and a rope that was too elastic to stay tight with movement. What is the recommended rope for this method?

Ideal would be rope used for Shibari (japanese bondage). But if that makes you uncomfortable, you can also look up its properties and order rope with similar qualities and neutral marketing lol

Could you be more specific, or is that against the rules?

Hm? I said all you need to know, but you can ask what specifically you need to know. Rope thickness? I think 12mm, but I'm not sure.

Shibari involves techniques that safely hang a person from the ceiling by their torso, legs, etc. The rope is designed to be soft yet sturdy, prevent discomfort and minimize damage, IF you avoid lethal spots.

So in other words, it combines all perfect qualities for psh/fsh. But alternatively, you can just find rope that's about 10 to 12mm thick and can hold a human's weight. Doesn't need to be soft, just a personal preference.

Rope also shouldn't be elastatic, it needs to remain static.

Thank you. I only mentioned elasticity because I've previously tried hemp rope and it didn't even tighten properly with weight because it was so rigid. It might've just been the thickness.
