The knot? In the front or back? High, low, etc? I'll be trying full suspension hopefully in just over a week (the support I'm using will arrive next week and then I won't have the house to myself until the 28th or 29th at the earliest). Of course it will put more pressure on my carotid arteries and it will be easier to suppress, and I'll be using a non stretch rope as well as a slip knot, but just wanted to make sure that I position it correctly.

Back of neck. Rope was high- just below jawline. Also noticed that it was much more comfortable to put as little weight as possible on the rope and get a feel of slowly fading out. It doesn't take much weight to compress the artery and I think that most people panic because they put so much weight upon the rope that it causes pain which is not necessary.

Full suspension is different - probably just drop and it will be over relatively quickly. Not much chance of failure.

I tried partial. Knot position in test runs was variable (except that it was never on my Adam's apple). The noose was just below and pressing on my jawline.

What was more important was to check that the rope was always pressing on both sides of the neck and did not have gaps where there is no force being applied. This was the major difference between unsuccessful trials with my t-shirt and successful ones with a rope. This might have to do with the t-shirt's fabric stretching and having gaps of pressure due to being too large to tie into a compact noose.

What kind of support are you planning to use? I'm looking around for things I can use in my apartment and coming up pretty empty, so feel like I'm going to have to order up something to suspend from.
