I read somewhere that during partial hanging, there are seizure-like convulsions that follow. Dumb question (apologies), but do these convulsions include vocal sounds? I lived with a girl last year who has epilepsy, and whenever she had an episode, there was often a loud cry/moan to alert me it was happening (I'm guessing from air moving past her vocal cords). I'm just worried now that I'll end up making noises from my room that would make my suitemates or RA check up on me.

Not really. I've tried finding info on that but I couldn't find much, so I'm assuming it's an "it depends" answer

I've watched several hanging videos on this site. They did seem to convulse but I didn't hear any sound. Maybe because of pressure on the airway?

I get queasy easily so I try to stay away from the videos on here (hypocritical of me, but yk), but makes sense if there really isn't much noise

I don't think it's hypocritical at all. There's no point stressing yourself out unnecessarily.

Can someone please educate me why convulsions/seizures occur? I thought partial hanging is when you cut off the blood to the brain, just like how it is during martial arts when they do a blood choke. The fighter on the receiving end always just goes limp with no movement, so why does partial cause convulsions/seizures?

An immediate difference I can think of is that the choke hold is released when the figher goes unconscious. So the blood flow returns to normal. During the hanging the pressure in the neck does stop

Ah yeah that makes sense. My go to right now is partial and I'm trying to find the sweet spot using my fingers but just can't seem to find it. My plan is to find that spot, then put socks on those 2 spots and use a belt. I'm just worried even if I find it, I will convulse and spazz and will cause it to fail...
