Anyone who has tried hanging might know the pressure buildup quickly causes survival instinct. Survival instinct = suffering and our goal here is to not suffer.

So I've thought of a method to help overcome survival instincts that don't involve drugs or alcohol.

One method I've considered is the dizzy method. When I was 12 there was a trend among kids to spin their head in circles really fast and a friend would press on either side of your throat (carotid artery) and it would make you almost immediately pass out. So similarly spinning your head and letting it drop into the noose, even with partial weight should be an almost immediate passing out. No suffering. For me it's just overcoming the knowledge that I'll shortly be dead that gives me pause. Don't know how to get past that

Thoughts on this methods?

this is the problem; probably the most important choice we're ever going to make. I can't see any amount of spinning helping with this one.

There is a book called "If It Bleeds", by Stephen King. I got a copy when it was just released, at a military PX store in Virginia. I hear they've made it into a movie now. Anyway, in the book version, there is a story where one of the characters goes out by hanging. But he overcomes the survival instinct by masturbating so that he doesn't feel the lack of oxygen due to the sexual stimulation. He dies with his pants around his ankles, hanging like a naked ragdoll. I don't recommend trying that at all, and to be honest, erotic asphyxiation only works if you have a kind of fetish for it, and King downplayed the whole thing as a joke and called it a "wanky hanky" or something stupid like that and it was such a totally random and out of place thing that its all I remember now from whatever chapter it came from.

Yeah probably not that. But I think it just comes down to a "just do it" approach eventually

I have been worried about SI too, I just hope when the time comes for it, I can do it without chickening out. But I'm going to create the setup and wait for the impulse to overcome my SI, moreover I am thinking of taping my legs together and also fastening my wrist together with a cable tie (if that is possible, but I have doubts) to prevent me any attempts at chickening out once the show begins. Gosh, I hope I get to be calm... I am so done here!

Zip ties are my idea. A zip tie around my left wrist, a zip tie around my right wrist and a third zip tie between them to close my wrists together behind my back when the time comes. They been be pretty loose so there's little discomfort.

I've always just had to get in the right headspace on my own, dont think there's a way around it and I think it's best that way.
