Was it done on purpose by a malicious creator ?

I suffer from the fact that our world is straight up boring. Our existence is by definition limited by strict limitations that cannot be transgressed in any way, such as the law of gravity for example.

I often imagine how living in a fictional world would be, the way how it would make life more enjoyable if, for example, it was possible for us to fly in the sky, to run as fast as a train, to customize our appearance at will the same way video games designers allow players to do so with their virtual character, to explore different dimensions, and so on. But instead we got meaningless human-made nuisances such as politics and capitalism lol

My point is, our imagination is limitless but our world is mostly boring, the universe is empty, there is no magic anywhere. That's the perfect recipe to make life seem worthless even though it is literally a statistical miracle that wasn't meant to happen. But when it did happen after trillions of years, it only lead to boring stuff. It is such a bummer, it's almost as if things had been made this way on purpose.

The internet and, to a lesser extent, artifical intelligence, have made it even more boring, we will never experience the thrill of exploring an uncharted area and stumbling upon a fucking giraffe or some shit. I don't know if that makes sense, but it's as if there is nothing left to be discovered anymore except strange islands stained with children blood everywhere.

We are allowed to dream as much as we want, we can write books about our dreams, we can compose music about them, we can portray them in movies, cartoons, animes, series, you name it. But doing that only makes the contrast between our boring universe and what it could have been starker.

This world is boring and it sucks. The closest thing to magic that has been made available to us is to put a seed in another conscious lump of flesh and watch it become a sort of copy of yourself after decades of patience. I wish we could switch dimensions and choose a different universe to live in.

Have you tried lucid dreaming? All the things you describe are possible in there.

Yes i tried to experience it, but i can't seem to remember much about my dreams half of the time, and i find it very difficult to 'stay' in the lucid dream once you've realized you're dreaming. It never lasts very long past that point.

To help with remembering and generally having more dreams you can try to start a dream journal. Have an intention to remember when you fall asleep and spend some time and mental energy on trying to recall and write down your dreams in the morning.
Realizing you are in a dream in the middle of it isn't the best technique. The are many more that work much better. I recommend a book called The Phase by Michael Raduga. A lot of info in it about the techniques, including how to stay longer and have a more solid experience. The free English version is available in here - https://remspace.net/files/the_phase.pdf

Thanks a lot ! I had already tried to start a dream journal, but it didn't seem to help me that much. I will read parts of the guidebook.

For a while, I got into a phase of "tripping" on benadryl to see things. It certainly wasn't good for me but it did work. It's also horrible and you shouldn't start doing it

What was so bad about it? I've gotten into a bit of a bad habit with using it to fall asleep, 25 mg of dph (the active ingredient in benadryl). It's nice for sleeping one night, though I can see it's making it only harder to sleep the next night. But I try looking up the risks and it just says "oh it'll slow your nervous system down" which seemed like kind of the point and not that bad? idk maybe the doses are way outta line but like genuinely what damage does it do
Maybe it's because I lack creativity and can't engage with fiction very well, but I tend to think that the mysteries of the natural world are actually wayy more interesting than what we can imagine, since the latter is kind of bound by what we're capable of understanding. Especially when you talk about anything before the dinosaurs, when vertebrates weren't even the main form of animals around, so you get these completely bizarre forms of life that just beg the question "how on Earth could this have lived??"
I love picturing what the sensations and atmosphere would have been, had I stood here a set amount of days ago, when the remnants we see only in rocks were actually living breathing creatures in a world completely untouched by human activity of categorization. For example, I'm a huge fan of cephalopods (like squids and octopuses), and around where I live, the bedrock formed when there were these 10-meter long squids living in long, pointed shells and spent their days suspended vertically in the warm, shallow seas. I adore picturing the smell of the air, the temperature of the water, and the texture and color of these creatures and how they'd emerge from the slight haze of blue in the oceans from just dim shadows. And after picturing all that, looking at the actual real thing that lived back then, now encased in a rock in front of me.

So like idk I think there's a lot in the world that is breathtakingly fascinating, it's just not very talked about, and a bit of an effort to really understand enough to appreciate. In my mind, it's mostly just the human world that's dreary, limited, and predictable.

I gained a decent amount of weight from it (really I'm still a twig) but it has a horrible hangover the next day and it feels like you're going to die and have no energy to do anything

oh ok i think i know that feel. unless you mean more pain is involved, i think the risk for me is that I loove how comfortable it makes lying down feel, so I'd probably fully willingly just waste away. good to know tho
