Hello, it took ages to make an account since the site was blocked for me without a VPN but finally, I'm here.
Since one can't find sodium nitrite and doesn't want to resort to hanging yet, I've decided to theorise my own nitrogen method.
First, the individual gets an air tight container. Then they place inside a burning candle and burning steel wool for the removal of oxygen, and calcium hydroxide (drain cleaner) or sodium hydroxide (pickling lime) and water for the removal of carbon dioxide. After the candle burns out, they are left with mostly nitrogen which can then be inhaled through a connected airtight tube taped to their mouth.
The pros of this method (if it works) are that the items required are very easy to obtain and it theoretically should be painless.
The problem is that I'm not sure if enough carbon dioxide or oxygen will be removed to make it purely painless or even work. Perhaps if the individual hyperventilates then completely exhales beforehand?
Additionally, perhaps ascorbic acid can be used to eliminate trace oxygen. I am incapable of testing this in my current situation.
Is this method sound or are better alternatives hanging, train tracks or self stabbing or something else?
