my mom, in spite of all the wrongs she has done to me, i still love her very much. i miss her. i wish she were here. her cancer became so aggressive that it would adapt to new treatments right away. i want to cry. i am crying. i am crying so much. there is not a coherent thought in my head.

sometimes, i just choose to go to sleep so i can have a chance of seeing her in my dreams. i've dreamt of her never getting cancer. i've dreamt of myself going back in time to tell her to have all of her reproductive system removed so she would never get cancer. i've dreamt of her beating the cancer. all i want to do is sleep so that i can see her. all i want to do is die so that i can see her.

recent disasters here have destroyed a couple of valuables that i own. it's expensive and i feel so guilty because my dad was never the breadwinner and now, he currently works multiple parttime jobs and we're gonna lose some of that money so i can get my things repaired. im so stupid. i should've been more watchful and vigilant. i just want to die. i just want to die. im so tired. im so mentally tired. i hate how life is so cruel, im so tired. i wish it were more acceptable to just give up.

watching my mom's last moments and last few months of living was so painful to me. she would cry and cry. she thought i would get into what's supposedly the best medical school in the country, but im sorry to my mom and dad. im too stupid for that school. my grades aren't high enough. i'm not confident enough in myself and i'm sure the interviewers could tell. i'm sorry i'm never enough.

i still love you, though. in another life, i will make it all up to you.

I'm so sorry for your lost. Losing mom must be the greatest pain ever, I know it will be for me. And for the disaster that cause damage to your things, it's not your fault. Shit hits the fan and it is what it is. Same with not getting into medical school. I'm a medical school dropout so I can tell you lots of medical students also suffer in their own ways, and your worth is never ties into any sort of prestiges school or career. I'm sure your mom is proud of you. I have a plan to ctb after my mom passes away so I can meet her again in the afterlife. Life is not worth living without mom.

I'm very very sorry that you lost your mom. I don't think anyone would expect you to have it together at the moment, especially after such a short period of time. I lost my mom a few years ago and I relate a lot to what you said, especially the first sentence of the post. I'm really sorry again, please try to be kind to yourself, its such a huge thing to go through and all of your emotions are valid 🫂

It's been two and half years for me. People keep telling me "It gets better." But my mother was the best thing in my life. I'm not sure I want to "get over it." What would it even look like to "get over" losing the person who birthed me and then sacrificed everything for me??

I just wanted to reach out because I know the pain of losing my mom. I guess some people don't feel it. But I think it's pretty primal.

I can feel her trying to comfort me. I can feel her sadness over my sadness. I've even heard her whisper, "Don't you dare!" when I start planning my bus route.

I have never heard a loved one's voice after their death, but I hear hers. I can't conjure her voice in my head at will. (I've tried! Many, many times! Just to hear her voice again!) Then every once in a while, I'll hear that Don't you dare! or I'll hear her call me a nickname she had for me as a little girl. And it's just clear as day.

God, after one month?? I wasn't even close to having it together! it took 40 days just to collect he things and bury her. I was completely o auto-pilot. Just one foot in front of the other.

My DMs are open if you want to talk, one motherless child to another. :aw::heart:

my mom died 1.5 years ago.. my dad doesn't care about me so he wasn't there to help me through it.. and i have no siblings.. so i just had to deal with my mom's death my self and also be the one to decide what to do with all the junk in her apartment and in the multiple storage units she had more junk in......... it's pretty tough when you aren't even expecting your mom to die and then suddenly she is dead and now you have to hurry and clean out all of her apartment and storage units while crying at the same time..

i couldn't do it, so i just took what i wanted from her apartment and left the rest there for the apartment people to clean up.. and for the storage units i didn't even bother checking those, so i assume the storage place probably auctioned off the units to random people to search through before cleaning them all out..

you DO get over it over time but it's slow.. i still sleep every night with her light jacket thing she wore.. and i have a little shrine i made for her in the living room on her cedar chest thing with pictures of her and other stuff of her's, and of course her urn with her ashes..

i had a lot of dreams about her after it happened too, dreams where she hadn't died yet, or dreams where she is like "yeah i died but i'm back now" etc..

i'll tell you some thing kind of weird/freaky.. she died in winter.. i have a clock with blue neon numbers on it in a room in my house.. about a month after she died i had a dream where she was showing me that clock and it had the time of 12:08 on it, and she said like "8 means i love you" or some thing (i don't remember the exact words, but she was showing me 8 means she loves me).. i didn't think much of it besides "that's a nice comfy dream i had of mommy"...
The months went by.. spring, then summer, then autumn.. i still missed mommy a ton and still had some dreams of her some times.. Eventually winter rolled around again.. Winter is a slow month for income for me, and usually mommy financially helped me through winter, but she wasn't here to help me any more.. One thing i decided to do to save energy was not run the central heater to heat the whole house, but instead just run a little space-heater only for my bedroom (it has my computer in it) where i'm at 99% of the time any way and let the rest of the house be cold as heck..
i already knew that blue clock was sensitive to cold a little because i've seen that when it gets a little bit cold it resets to 12:00 and blinks on/off constantly with 12:00 on it (it starts counting again (starting from 12:00) when it warms back up)....... and so when the house started getting cold in winter the clock started doing the 12:00 blinking thing... i could have just unplugged it all winter since it wasn't going to show me the correct time any way, but i was lazy and just kept it plugged in and blinking 12:00......

... as it got further in to winter the house (except my bedroom) got colder... i noticed that the colder the clock got the faster it blinked for some reason... eventually when it got cold enough it just stayed on 12:00 solidly and no longer blinked any more.. but then when it got even colder the LED segment in the middle of that right 0 messes up and turns on, making it display as an 8..
And so i walked out of my room one time and saw the clock....... stuck at 12:08... permanently..... exactly like how it looked in that dream.... i got the frisson effect happening when it instantly made me remember that dream i had almost a year before of my mom showing me that clock.. that has to be some wickedly astronomical coincidence that i see the clock like that in the dream and then later that same clock ends up with some weird glitches like that from the coldness and ends up exactly like how the dream showed.. that's not only my mom telling me that she is still here, but some how knowing i'll see that damn thing some time in the future.. "when you see the 8 it means i love you"........ it was beyond freaky for me..

This next thing is less freaky, but still kind of weird.. sorry for yapping so much i always feel like i'm hijacking some one's thread when i yap so much.. she was a big star trek fan and we watched all of the TNG episodes together tons of times (she also liked babylon5 which we watched too).. her favorite episode was that one where they loop infinitely and then Data ends up showing the number 3 in lots of various places.. Since she has died i see 3s some times, not constantly or any thing but um, i can't even remember every time now but two of the times i recall now are: while i was going through her boxes of junk (ones i had in my house) one box was my baby stuff from when i was a baby.. i pulled out a red baby shirt that i guess was mine, and it had big 33 numbers on it..

while mommy was alive she would some times order groceries on internet and have them delivered to my house about once a month to help me out.. a few months after she died one of my clients (some nice old guy) just started giving me tons of free groceries every month that he didn't want any more (he said him and his wife always get too much and can't eat it all).. i thought maybe it was my mom sending me food help to me some how.. One of those months he was giving me tons of bags of free food, i noticed one of the plastic bags, for no reason i could tell, had a white label stuck on it and all it had written on that label in thick red marker was "333"........ i have no idea if it was an order number from some place he got a grocery delivery from or what, but i still have that bag and am never throwing it away.. it's just weird.. none of the bags even have labels or a number written on them usually, and then when one finally does then literally what are the chances from 000 to 999 that it would have 333 on there.. some thing is going on here..

any way, it's hard losing your mom.. at least you have your dad still unlike me who has a dad that is technically still alive but doesn't care about me and never sees me.. my mom wasn't perfect either, and we had plenty of political debates and arguments over money and stuff, but she was very kind and we loved each other a lot..

my stories are real but they don't super shock me because i've always believed strongly in spirit world already.. the weird things that happen like that just make me miss mommy and know that she is still watching me be a complete dork in my life lol..
but so, your mom is with you still.. the sucky thing is just that we can't communicate easily with the other side..

try to love what ever family you have left too (your dad and who ever else).. i (effectively) have no dad, no siblings, my grandparents are all dead, and the only family i even have left at all are 2 uncles: 1 that i talk to every few months, and an other one that i talk to like only once a year.. i don't have any friends any more either (we all went our separate ways)..

i some times yap about financial advice to people but i won't do that too much here, but make sure you and dad are managing your money wisely and not spending it on expensive things you don't need.. and have some savings money as a buffer in case an emergency happens so you don't have to quickly look for money to borrow from some one..

i know people like to say you never get over some one dying, because it kind of seems discourteous to seem like you "got over" some one, but it does get easier over time, even if it takes a long time.. it probably took me like a year to stop the crying i would do some times over it..

any way, despite not being able to communicate like normal, she is still here, she can see and hear you, she knows what you are going through, and she loves you, and you will eventually be back in spirit world your self and with her again..

Same here, actually. I don' have any relationship with father (who died in the 90s, but since I never knew him, it had no affect on me. I have no siblings.

I LOVE that dream. My mom's favorite color was red. And right after she died, I kept finding bright Christmas red tinsel EVERYWHERE. At first I thought somethng had fallen off a truck. But then we went back to her hometown to bury her. I still kept finding red tinsel.

I went on a trip on the 1 year anniversary of her death? Found red tinsel in Europe.

Just the other day I found a piece of it in some random place. Always bright-red. Her favorite color. I keep thinking, ok, Mom, but if you DON'T want me to do this, SOMETHING needs to turn around in a BIG WAY ---SOON!

But, no, my entire family is dead once I lost Mom.

oh, for me i think now that she is in spirit world she can tell how much suffering i am going through now, so i assume signs from her are just her telling me she loves me and is still here.. i think she is probably okay with what ever i decide to do with my life and probably just wants me to be happy.. i still have plans to try to do some big things in my life before i completely give up, and i think she is probably emotionally supporting me and thinks it would be cool if i succeed, but if i don't succeed then i don't think it's a big deal.. i think she's happy with what ever i decide to do.. and people don't get control over my life any way just because they are in spirit world now..

Mom (once I was a adult; as a child, she was the parent, but when I was 22, we became closer and closer friends the older we got), she actually was another "safe person" in my life , meaning someone to whom we could both purge suicidal feelings---up to a point, because it could become too upsetting for both of us.

With my other "safe" friend, it was pretty much anything goes (and if you don't know what I'm talking about....it's in my recent post history: About "safe people," purging suicidal feelings AS---yes, DSMXII, a "healthy coping mechanism," with a one easy boundary: Ultimately, it is the individual's choice; never the "safe person's "fault" or "responsibility."

I think of this site as not only pro-choice, but pro-considered-choice. I seem to remember a post from a really long time ago that claimed this forum has saved more lives than the number of members who have chosen to die. Because where else can you fucking talk about it?!? And if "purging" is effective---it's effective!

I have to stop. Talking about psychotherapists makes me want to slit my wrists.

I'm sorry for your loss. I know it's not easy, I lost my little brother and I'm missing him everyday. He one of the few good things about my life. Please take it easy, and like others have said don't place your worth on your career or prestige schools.

I don't. Not exactly. But when you've lost EVERY job you've ever held....? I'm educated. I'm experienced. And, sooner or later, my ass ALWAYS get fired, often abused first, and THEN fired. This doesn't happen to other people. This is not normal. There's something seriously WRONG with me.

Now, I can't get a job AT ALL. (I didn't go Big 10 or anything, but I got good grades at well-respected colleges and grad school. I ENJOY working. It almost seems the more I enjoy it, the faster I get tossed out on my ass.

I really don't place my worth as a human being on that. I believe we all have inherent worth as human beings. Unfortunately, society places our ability to eat and live indoors on holding a job that pays enough for rent, food, etc.

And after a while, I can't help but ask.....what the fuck is WRONG with me?! I don't know anyone else who has FAILED at the number of jobs or other ventures that I have attempted in my 55 years on this beautiful earth that, frankly does deserve humans! We're like a virus to the planet.

I look at my cats....two of them I inherited from Mom. All she asked of me was: "Take care of my animals."....and they're so sweet. Sure, they're tear a mouse or a bird limb from limb to eat. But there is no senseless cruelty in them. They would never hurt another living being unless they needed to eat or were being attacked and had to fight for their lives. Humans can't exactly say the same, can we?

I might consider reincarnation if I knew I could come back as a beloved housecat.
