i plan on ctb sometime in august of this year or maybe may/june of next year. i wanted to share some of the methods im thinking about using, in case anyone has some advice they could share!

1. drowning
i would attempt a shallow water blackout in a bathtub. i think i would get a helium balloon to take breaths from. i would exhale all the oxygen i can and inhale helium repeatedly while sitting in the bathtub. if im not mistaken this should cause me pass out and drown. i think it would take about ten or so minutes for me to die. this could very easily look like an accident imo. although i don't want to be naked so that might make it look more suspicious.

2. gsw
to avoid disfiguring my face i think i would aim for my chest and heart. unfortunately that makes it much easier for me to saved. but i think i will just take that risk.

thats all i can think of for now, i might update this later!

if you two don't mind, what do you see in swb as opposed to other methods? i don't get it, it just sounds weird and sad. though, admittedly, i too am weird and sad.

well, i'd like to do a chemical/detergent suicide because with a strong enough concentration it would supposedly kill you in seconds and sulfur is very very cheap lol but it's almost impossible not to get other people killed in the process . i definitely don't want to expose the paramedics and definitely not my family or neighbors, either. swb seems nostalgic, almost, i think i would have the easiest time with this.. i probably would wimp out with a gun, but i think i could do this, eventually . plus i have everything on hand, so i can just do it whenever the time comes

it also seems weird and sad to me but although it will probably be in vain im trying my hardest to make my death seem like an accident. i don't think it's going to work but i would still like to try. with swb you won't even feel water until your lungs because you will lose consciousness. it seems pretty peaceful for a ctb method.

Have you tried to pass out from inhaling helium without submerging?
no but i think im going to be trying it very soon. basically how it works is that you'll be depleting your body of oxygen while still having carbon dioxide leave your body as normal so your body will never realize you're without oxygen, if that makes sense. its supposed to make you pass out without ever feeling dizzy or out of breath. i'm hoping that doing this while just sitting in my bathtub will cause me to drown, although i'll probably have to try my best position myself to where i will fall down into the water.

I'd prefer it. But I've not seen stats on survival rate. Seems you'd need to wait to bleed out.

The body detects the lack of oxygen via the peripheral chemoreceptors, and hypoxemia can cause some perception of air hunger and desire to breathe more intensively than usually. These effects are somewhat similar to those produced by mild hypercapnia. The hypoxic ventilatory response can be decreased by hypocapnia produced by hyperventilation.

If oxygen is displaced properly, the plan should work. By the way, have you considered nitrous oxide? It should produce stronger sedation than helium.

does that mean that the methods that use gasses like Helium or Nitrogen are not as peaceful as they are thought to be? Of course the body will detect a low oxygenation of blood and it will trigger a faster heartbeat and probably faster breathing (oxygen hunger). But it is believed that it will not trigger a sense of panic like when there is a higher CO2 concentration (hypercapnic alarm).
According to what I have found, if the oxygen levels drop very quickly, the brain does not have the time to react before the unconsciousness comes

"Peaceful" is a vague notion (is shooting the head peaceful or violent?). Gas asphyxiation can cause brief mild physical discomfort.
But it is believed that it will not trigger a sense of panic like when there is a higher CO2 concentration (hypercapnic alarm).
Anxiety or fear can be provoked by both hypoxia and hypercapnia, the latter just has stronger effects. In both cases, the experience may depend on the expectations and how optimistic or pessimistic your attitude towards the process is. In particular, the article below suggests that some people probably don't experience fear or panic when inhaling carbogen (COâ‚‚/Oâ‚‚ mixture):
According to what I have found, if the oxygen levels drop very quickly, the brain does not have the time to react before the unconsciousness comes
This article says otherwise:

Acute hypoxic ventilatory response
The acute response to hypoxia is an immediate augmentation of ventilatory activity following the onset of a hypoxic stimulus, and typically includes increases in both fR and VT relative to baseline. To date, almost all animals studied exhibit such a hyperbolic increase in ventilation as a function of decreasing arterial oxygen saturation (PaO2); however, the underlying changes in fR versus VT are highly variable between species. The acute HVR persists throughout any given hypoxic stimulation and terminates immediately following the removal of hypoxia, that is, it begins and ends within one breath of the detection of a change in PaO2 at the carotid body.

I've tried to inhale Nâ‚‚O to the point of passing out, and I noticed increased urge to breathe prior to LOC.
