This song by Skynd is about Conrad Henri Roy III was an American man who died by suicide at the age of 18. His girlfriend, 17-year-old Michelle Carter, had encouraged him in text messages to kill himself. As a survivor of an attempted CO2 exit using the same method as Conrad I find this song extremely relatable. The reason for posting this now is that I'm going to drag myself out of the house and go and see the band tonight which should hopefully be a pleasant distraction.

I always wondered if tinnitus sounds different for each person/is unique to this person so I found this reply to be very interesting

when it comes to music/artist/albums I always assumed that tinnitus might sound a bit like a Ryoji Ikeda album but less loud

or something by Tetsu Inoue

I do not suffer from tinnitus as far as I know but I find random moments of deafness in one ear randomly followed by a high frequency noise, static, or whistling to be normal or spontaneous or sometimes it presents itself when I am incredibly focused or zoning out most likely due to years of disregarding loud noise warnings when using headphones/earphones at a high volume

An audiologist once said to me, "everyone has tinnitus", which is rubbish because I didn't have any tinnitus until I was 20 and then for a long while it was only audible at night. And some people do have it long term but then say it goes completely.

But I have always had moments where something happens and I have what I describe as a whistle like the wind through a large hole for about 20 seconds before it goes away and I think that is the case with everyone. And I think what you have described happening to you can be normal, but try to take care of your ears anyway just in case. I've had it for 30 years now and it is in what I see as a 4th stage. With each of the previous 2 stages I thought would be as bad as it gets but when it got even louder and would no longer be masked by anything I knew I'd failed to take enough care when I had the chance to. Some things will cause it to go quieter for a while but there is nothing that consistently does. It seems to be a random thing, so if you do notice something that isn't too bothersome, it could get worse if you don't look after your ears now.
