  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Food for thought. I have worried in the past that if I wait too long then things might be beyond my control.

I think over time pain tolerance begins to grow, which is why "bad enough" is always a moveable feast. CTB-ing should be something with a lot of forethought behind it and not just motivated by temporary spikes in pain or suffering.

Yes, N or SN may expire or weaken or become scarce and irreplaceable. Personally, I will be replacing SN every year and commit suicide when I lose my source.

Even if I left this world right now I would still be leaving too late. I really should have left this world a while ago but of course I should have never existed at all. Things have always been bad enough for me to leave, just the fact that I exist and have to endure this life is enough to make me want to be gone. Staying alive would be the worst possible thing for me as there is always the chance of the current suffering I am experiencing getting worse.

Emil Cioran said something about how we always kill ourselves too late.

Yeah I often think about the episode of Breaking Bad called Fly where
Walt talks with Jesse about the different moments he should have killed himself in order to go out on a better note before things got worse for him.
I worry a lot that I'm inching away from the last of my "better" days and will be looking back with the same thoughts from an even more miserable place.

Worse is when you're without a method, then you may go crazy.

I have the method, full suspension hanging, and the equipment to carry it out. However this will entail climbing a ladder to attach the rope and then stepping up onto a particularly rickety chair before taking the ultimate step. I have tested the method, it will work, but I am concerned that advancing age and disability could hamper the process.

In the UK, you have no better options than hanging anyway. Fuck prescription laws, MPs and the aristocrats who do everything to take away our options for existential freedom.

You know when the pro-lifers interview suicide survivors and they say how happy they are that their attempt failed? I always wish they would speak to people who have been suicidal for years/decades because they will likely say- I wish I'd just gone ahead and done it back then and saved myself a whole lot more suffering. This quote reminds me of this.

Each group has hindsight bias, you cannot tell whether things will get better or not. What you can do is hold responsibility for your actions, understanding that your action was sincere and final. No one has ever regretted a successful suicide. Former suicidal and depressed people tend to be very supportive of suicide prevention, bc they cannot see others making different choices and want to validate their own choices, like latent homosexuals become the greatest homophobics.
