Venting Money isn´t Everything

Ironically, for some of us, if we had enough money, we'd be able to CBT easy peasy. Our sheer lack of funds makes us wait. And wait. And wait. And hope that someone else come to our rescue so we don't have to risk more brain damage.

Money solves lots of problems, but not all of them, and not certain huge problems. There are people with lots and lots of money, who still self-terminate, and that says something very important and powerful about the limits of money. If money were the magical thing some people believe, this would not be the case. Yes, it's very important, yes, it dramatically transforms life. But it's not magic.

Money is truly a lot. If I had enough money to where I never have to work for my entire life, I'd live until I die naturally, even through old age. I've seen people who justify work by saying that life would be miserable without challenges but my neurotype isn't like theirs due to autism and, so, if I didn't have any challenges in life, I'd live it all out

Money is a HUGE problem if you don't have enough. It doesn't buy everything though. It can't buy health or appreciation. Someone who has always had money doesn't know what it's like to have to struggle without it. So- they simply won't be as grateful for it. If you've always had your health or, always had enough to eat, you probably won't be grateful for that so much. How often are you grateful you can hear or see or taste? (If you do have those faculties working.)

I think it's just horrible human nature to take things for granted. I agree though- money would solve all of my immediate problems!

Of course, people may argue that it's easier to get money than other things. That's debatable though. Depends on what kind of job you can get. Whether you happen to be lucky enough to be skilled in something that pays well. Depends somewhat on whether you came from money to begin with- to an extent. Although, there are rags to riches stories out there. Bad health can screw all of that up though. You can lose your job. You can be too unwell to get an education to begin with.

Money solves many problems but it doesn't change:

- many types of sickness
- old age
- death

It also won't solve many other problems like loneliness, etc...

And then even if you have it, it's only for those crazy enough who think they will live forever. If you are conscious that you will die one day, what is the point of amassing huge amounts of it?

Although let's be honest, money solving all your immediate problems would make you less likely to ctb for a little while because now you've got new opportunities to explore that you didn't have before.

All of it comes down to the luck of the draw. Almost everyone's goal out of high school was to make a lot of money in order to be successful, drive cars and live good, basically all the superficial stuff you can think of but the chances of that happening is incredibly slim. Even when people talk about the "grind" and "sacrificing hours" doesn't seem worth it to me since chances are it won't work out anyway.

Although, there are rags to riches stories out there. Bad health can screw all of that up though. You can lose your job. You can be too unwell to get an education to begin with.

Not just bad health but life's many potentially detrimental and permanent events that can happen and happen suddenly.

How important it is is not emphasized enough, i think.
It's not spoken about enough in the media. Instead we're given garbage like true love, etc etc. Am I bitter? no. just tired.
Health = Wealth, they said. But in order for me to eat healthy, i need the money because farm to table and non-GMO produce is a helluva lot more expensive than the usual stuff.
In order for me to get checked by a doctor, I need money to see one, only to be told I should be taking care of my self better, not working/stressing so hard about stuff, that "money isnt everything". Which ironically makes my blood pressure go up because I just want to tell the doctor "if i dont work at my job which gives me this level of stress I wouldnt be able to pay to see you".
Love/relationships you form are more important than money, they said. Sureee it is. What could go wrong when you place more value on people? right? i mean..it's not like people are predominantly only looking out for themselves, right?

Money pays rent. Money pays for groceries. Money pays the electricity bill. Money pays the water bill. Money pays for medicine when sick. Money pays for therapists when mentally sick. Money pays for pleasure when bored. Money pays for companionship when lonely. Money is everything. Everything is money.

Whoever said money is not everything is a fucking liar. Whoever said that money can't buy happiness is a fucking liar.

While I don't think money is everything, I do think it is a lot of things.

I remember, around grade 2, my mother breaking down how much money she got from work and child support, how much that went to bills, groceries, rent, etc. I remember her having to count all of the pennies I saved back elementary school in order to pay for stuff.

I remember my dad switching the tags on some chicken he was buying and having to explain to me that he was only doing it because he wouldn't be able to afford it otherwise. I remember him having to travel outside of the city and working at a shitty job where they didn't even provide him with proper safety equipment so he had no choice but to buy his own from the dollarstore.

And I'm lucky. I had the privilage of having middle-class grandparents who cared about me and my brother enough that they were willing to help out and would even pay for variety of activities for me and my brother to do. They used to travel around with me. I consider myself lucky.

Money doesn't always protect you from trauma or mental illness. It doesn't always gaurantee happiness. But, at the end of the day, having a lot of it does make life a lot easier and anyone who tries to deny otherwise is an idiot.
