I've dealt with crypto before but I can't figure out a way to get Monero/XMR in order to order my supplies. 🚌

Coinbase, Kraken, and some other service said today "you can't purchase that asset on this website" or "you can't purchase that asset from your state".

I'd just use a VPN or Tor, but the crypto-buying websites all appear to require my IRL ID which shows that I live in a Monero-unfriendly state.

Thoughts?

PS: I'm making progress faster than I expected, and life has begun to feel almost weightless. The same relief I'd get from a terminal diagnosis. Just fucking ahhhhhh. Finally.

Buy BTC swap it for XMR. Thats the process. It'll be more costy cuz of fees and all of that BS. Im not exactly sure if it's better to use any public exchange like change io (non kyc) or a private one. Tor taxi as you probably know it lists an exchange idk if it's trustworthy never used it tbh. Ive used change io to exchange my btc for xmr. But later on switched back to btc big regret lol xmr was pumped to oblivion. Now I got 160 in btc. If you want to keep them stable use a coin like USDC it pretty much stays the same price.

Thank you!

Just so I'm sure I understand, so I go buy my BTC anyplace, then use
change io (do you mean like changenow dot io?)
to get a BTC address to send my BTC to, which then changenow dot io will forward to the address of my separate Monero wallet?

You may have better luck asking this on subreddits like r/darknet or r/monero.

buy ltc and swap to xmr instead
there is a long and rich history explaining how bitcoin got coopted by blockstream who censored discussion to control the narrative in order to make on-chain transactions prohibitively expensive and therefore pushing people to use their sidechain instead. basically btc will cost you extra in transaction fees, i think it's only a few dollars but it takes no extra effort to use ltc and it's really about the principal
free the blockchain

How do you actually use changenow io without kyc? I tried to buy some crypto with fiat some time ago, not a very large amount but they always use a partner for the transaction and redirect you to that partner website where you need to identify. I gave up the idea...

Yes, https://changenow.io/ the swapping is non-kyc the buying on their is kyc. For non-kyc sites to buy BTC from youd need to visit a p2p exchange like https://localcoinswap.com/ which I bought my BTC from. Like someone on here already said BTC might take more fees you can download cake wallet and make an LTC wallet works just fine and probably less fees.

On localcoinswap if you want to use it look for non-kyc offers with low above market rates %. What does it mean? well when you buy BTC or any coin from them theyll give you less for what you send thats how they earn money. $40 bought from a 20% above market offer lands you roughly with $31-33 If the math I did was right.

The whole process I did was non-kyc it's more safe for that purpose.

On changenow io you plug in the full amount you want to swap then select for which coin you want (XMR). It'll ask you for your xmr wallet. Put it in. Then it'll make a QR code just scan it using your cake wallet auto fills everything. Send it in and your all done just wait for it to go through. Save all transaction details that they give you in case of anything happening.

Be careful btw they have minimums meaning you have to reach it to swap. For example the minimum btc that you have to put in to swap is 0.000105.
Always calculate the amount they'll give you compared to the amount you currently have.

The swapping is non-kyc. Buying is always KYC for every site sadly. P2P is the only way to buy without kyc. Check my comment above I go thru the process of how I managed to get my XMR without having to identify.
