Do you recover from a mental breakdown, Esp if CPTSD is a part of you, possible EUPD, depression anxiety?
I had a mental breakdown 2019, never got proper treatment, if any at all, only in therapy now, private therapy, as the NHS don't give a shit, but I have regular panic attacks, anxiety, can't get a job,
but keep getting told by people that I should be over it by now and recovered?
I said other day to someone, I feel Im close to breaking point again to be told that I was being silly and Im better now...
The other day I drove over a bridge, for the first time in over 12 months, I felt a pull, a pull I was glad I was in a car I couldn't stop
So do you ever recover from a breakdown? Google claims I should be over it in a few months?
reality time? Thoughts?

How would Google know? That's odd. Some people recover some don't.

Can you specify this? Mental breakdown because of various reasons or a low point in your life (caused by mental illness still)

I would say that unless you are lucky with medication, mental illness is for life and it is about learning to live the best life you can with it. EUPD/BPD - DBT is apparently helpful.

Are you on/have you tried meds for the anxiety and panic attacks? My friend is finding them helpful.

I hope you find things that comfort you and help you and reasons to live.

People without the mental illness won't understand it (usually) so if they tell you you should be over it, you have had a big shock and there's no set time frame..

From my CPTSD I used to have hallucinations and was fearful to leave the house for years. I also heard mechanical sounds and repeating strings of triggering words.

Now it's all better and it's been years without these things. You can definitely get better after a mental break even if it lasts for some time.

4 yrs ago a build up of many traumas found me being pulled off a bridge by the police, my story is on this site I don't wish to go into it,

I suffered a mental breakdown in 2019 got diagnosed with BPD/EUPD and diagnosed with depression and anxiety.. I've been treated but it's still a struggle and personally I feel I'll never recover from it, I just have to live with it and manage it! It's there and something that is always there.. it interferes with my life even now, but you have to keep it down and manage everything that comes with it and that i struggle with! Like I told someone about the breakdown not the BPD who was a potential relationship and I think it put them off me..
so yeah is recovery possible I guess that depends on the person.. but prehaps recovery is learning to accept and live with it.
