She was 62 years old, suffering from multiple sclerosis since she was 32. She asked him every time to die. She couldn't even eat, she'd suffer from everything. He ordered barbiturates, N I suppose, and finally helped her to get rid of this shitty life and be free. They even recored a video about her will to die and signed some papers.

He is arrested now accused of homicide and facing from six to ten years of jailtime.

Holy shit what a sad world we live in, I'm typing this in tears. I have no words.

Wow.
Stupid fucking government.
So she was supposed to suffer??
Atleast her husband was a human and had compassion. Why make someon live with a great deal of pain.
U know what- its wrong he got arrested.but i sure as hell know hes happy to put her in a peaceful place.

But how could he have gotten arrested with evidence to her agreeing??

This is the worst of all. I knew them before this all happened because he has been in news and some tv programs for years try to ask for help. Seriously this breaks me so hard.

They are saying they got N from "Muerte Digna" association, and because is used by Vets it is "very easy to find it" as literal.

Her situation was so hard. I don't know how can people stand thinking it's better to be incapable of moving, speak, even eating. Fuck the state and their laws.

I don understand, it's obvious the only reason that he assisted in her wish to end her life is because he loved her and doesn't want her to be in the pain she was suffering from physically and mentally. Couldn't they have made some sort of agreement to let him live the rest of his life in peace, he just lost his wife. Poor man

He just wanted to help his wife get out of this shithole planet, yet apparently that's too much for people to accept. I wonder how all the legislators and judges in Spain would feel if they had to deal with MS for 30 years.

It's just over my head to get how these people can think they are doing the right thing. Isn't the law and jail there to protect people and serve justice? She wanted to die, they have the evidence of it on video. He wanted to ease her pain and give her the peace she deserved. What is wrong with that?

God, that makes me angry.

More evidence we're cattle and belong to governments. Those who have mercy on us face criminal charges:

From the article: criminal code 143 oversees encouraging or helping with others' suicide with penalties from 2 to 10 years. There may be a sentence reduction if the "victim" suffered from a terminal illness and there's evidence they requested the help to die.

Yeah. If you kill yourself, they can't arrest anyone for it. Assisted Suicide they pin on the helping party and now have more cattle for the prison system. At least that is how America would look at it.

Even if you attempt to suicide but fail, they will not arrest anyone. In some places they may compulsory hospitalize you in a mental institution.

Another way of getting into the system. Now let's get them hooked on meds they probably couldn't afford to begin with.

I could just be paranoid

But if you order something like N and somehow survive, would they arrest you for ordering that stuff?

@Davy Yeah, ordering N in itself is illegal in most countries. It's a controlled substance. In Mexico, the rules seems to be lax so I'm not sure how it would play out there.
